I Get a Ton of Free Clothes, But These 10 Items Are Absolutely Worth My Cash

With over a decade under my belt as a fashion editor, I've had the chance to test out every wash of jeans, every fit of tee, and every jacket material that you can think of. I'm fortunate that sometimes I'm even sent items for free to review before they hit the market. All of this has made me extremely particular about the pieces that I'm actually willing to invest in. Something that looks amazing in photos may not fit my body, or the material may not be what I imagined when I order it online. That's why over time I've streamlined the place that I look for new pieces, especially when I'm on a budget.
When I'm looking for something new to purchase, there are a few questions I always ask myself. First, how will it fit in with what I currently own? Second, have I tried this silhouette or material before? And last, is this something I'll get tired of by the end of the year? Once I've done my due diligence, then whatever makes the cut is added to my cart. Right now on my list are a subtle-yet-luxe Tory Burch bucket bag, Zara trousers that feel like sweats, and eight other must-haves that I've set aside for myself. I'm happy to share them with you, along with other notable pieces that I'm still considering but will likely be purchases I make soon. If you're looking for some fresh shopping ideas, consider these styles that are worth the money.
My Top Ten
This bucket bag is just the right size for carrying the everyday essentials, and I love the subtle logo print.
I've been on the hunt for a pair of statement studs, and these earrings are at the top of my list.
I think of these as sweats that masquerade as trousers. They're so comfy but perfect for the office.
I'm set on ankle boots, but I've been looking for something taller. These boots are the perfect basic silhouette.
Oversize sunglasses are my go-to accessory year-round. This silhouette is the perfect statement.
Thinking ahead to spring, I'm going to need a few new romantic dresses to add to my rotation. Isn't this one pretty?
After focusing on baggy jeans, it's time to reintroduce something slimmer into my rotation. Agolde is my go-to brand.
Lululemon's Wundermost fabric is so soft to the touch I never want to take it off.
Mango's latest arrivals remind me of Prada's aesthetic from the '90s. Consider me sold.
I'm planning a beach vacation, and this bag feels worthy of the trip.
