Exclusive: Lauren Conrad's Cool-Girl Guide to Holiday Dressing

The holidays are coming up quickly, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. This is hands-down the happiest time of year, in my book. There’s something special about decorating our Christmas tree, wrapping presents, seeing friends at holiday parties, and spending quality time with family.

This year, I have a handful of holiday soirees lined up, so I’ve been putting together different looks for each party. Today, I’ll be sharing my favorite holiday looks and style tips, as well as a handful of my holiday season essentials. Take a look.

Cozy Sweater + Sequined Skirt
This is one of my favorite looks for a holiday party or Thanksgiving dinner. Mixing textures is a fun way to add interest to an outfit, and I love how this knit sweater dresses down this floor-length sequin skirt.

Faux Fur + Lacy Slip
This oversized, textured coat is an unexpected (and quite cozy) way to complete almost any outfit. It’s feminine and a little bit funky, perfect to throw over a cocktail dress for a night out or over jeans and a t-shirt during the day.

Glam Cocktail Dress + Metallic Heels
This sleek metallic dress is perfect for a holiday cocktail party or winter wedding. The silhouette is classic and simple, but the sheen gives it the perfect amount of sparkle for a special night out during the holidays. And I’m also pretty in love with these rose gold pumps too…

Slip Dress + Glittery Oxfords
This holiday season I’ll definitely be stepping out of my style comfort zone and trying things I haven’t worn before. Why not, right? We all need a break from heels from time to time, and these sparkly oxfords are the perfect retreat. Worn with a flowy dress and a blazer resting on your shoulders, this look is perfect for a dinner date at your favorite restaurant.

Tailored Jacket + Skinny Jeans
A tailored jacket is one those pieces that can completely change the look of an outfit. Pairing it with a silk blouse and a pair of skinny jeans creates the perfect look for a day at the office or out at meetings. It’s functional while remaining stylish. The pop of color from the teal pumps adds a little something extra, too. I love this outfit for a busy day of meetings that ends with cocktails with my girlfriends.

Leather Jacket + Lace Maxi
This is one of my favorite day-to-night looks. Mixing a feminine ivory dress (complete with gorgeous lace details) and a leather moto jacket is a great way to attain a fresh look. Also, the ankle socks add a little extra sweetness to the edgy lace-up heels.

A cute clutch is a must for your upcoming holiday parties. I personally love this one from Clare V. I have a soft spot for polka dots and gold accents, and this one will go with any outfit you wear this season.

As many of you already know, there aren’t too many things I love more than rose gold accents. So when I saw these chic pumps, I knew I had to have them. The shimmery cap-toe gives this classic nude pump a little something extra. This is definitely a shoe you can wear all season long.

I love a good crew-neck sweater to wear with jeans or a high-waisted skirt. I’m currently loving this cute one from Equipment. The star print gives it a little extra holiday flair.

Did I mention how much I love bows? This just might be the sweetest dress I’ve seen all season. I can’t wait to wear it to holiday parties and on nights out with my girlfriends.

Rebecca Taylor Foil Metalasse Midi Skirt ($395)
Midi skirts have been my go-to recently, and this metallic one was made for the holidays! You can dress it up with a silk blouse or dress it down with a chunky knit sweater.
