Earlier this year, a new study said the UV lights used to cure gel manicures pose a health risk. The study claims these UV lights can damage DNA and permanently alter genomes in your skin. Many avid gel fans started worrying about their choice of manicure. Should they continue to risk it? And if so, is there a way to mitigate the risks of putting your hands under UV light?

These questions have been on many people's minds since learning about the potential health hazards. Clearly, they've also been on Kylie Jenner's mind.

In a TikTok video posted over the weekend, Jenner took a video detailing the process of her new pearl manicure. In the video, her manicurist applies a sheer white coat of polish, cures it, then tops it with chrome for milky, iridescent nails. But one thing was a bit out of the ordinary: In the video, Jenner wore fingerless black gloves throughout the process.

No, these gloves aren't a fashion statement. They're UV protection gloves, which are one way to help protect your hands from harmful UV rays while getting a manicure. Made with UPF+ protection, these gloves cover most of the fingers and hands while you're curing your nail polish. They're an easy way to feel a little better about your next gel manicure.

Below, find some UV protection gloves you can take to your next nail appointment. The best part? They're all extremely affordable.
