The Founder of Instagram Reveals His Favourite Fashion Accounts

Kevin Systrom, the CEO and co-founder of Instagram, recently sat down with i-D to chat about the app’s ever-growing relationship with the fashion world. You might be wondering what a techie like him knows about fashion, but it turns out that he counts Karlie Kloss as one of his close friends and is a frequent attendee of major industry events like the Met Ball. “I don’t claim to be a fashionista myself,” he told i-D, “but it’s fun.”

When asked why fashion and Instagram work so well together, Systrom points to a mutual love for beautiful visual content, and we concur—remember what catching up on the latest fashion was like pre-Instagram? Shudder—we’ve already blocked those days out.

Naturally this makes us wonder what fashion accounts the founder enjoys following most, and his answers are definitely not the most obvious. First up? @Paridust, run by the blogger Pari Ehsan, who merges art and fashion to make some of the coolest conceptual images around. Next is @IsabelitaVirtual, a publicist from Barcelona who moonlights as a quirky fashion photographer, capturing the runways of top labels like Prada and Kenzo. And last but not least, @TheDressedChest, a men’s style blogger whose entire account is a colourful stream of different bow and neckties. Consider them all added to our feed.
