Jessica Wang Shares Her Milan Fashion Week Highlights

Milan Fashion Week has come and gone, but not without serving up a delightful platter of noteworthy moments, both on and off the runway. There were buzzy designer debuts—Sabato de Sarno at Gucci and Peter Hawkings at Tom Ford—star-studded front rows (Prada brought out all of our favorites), and some of the best street style of the season. But what is it really like being a part of all the action? To find out, we enlisted Jessica Wang, globetrotter and one of the most influential arbiters of glamorous style, to give us her first person account of one of the most anticipated stops on the fashion week tour. From stylish dinners to Missoni fittings and a show-packed schedule, Wang had nary a free minute to spare, but that didn’t stop her from showing up and showing out in some seriously dreamy looks. Here, she shares all her MFW highlights exclusively for Who What Wear.
"When I touch down, the official MFW (Meal Fun Week) kicks off! Time to rock some laid-back biker style at the Paris Texas dinner … because carbs and leather are always a winning combo IMO.”
"Making my way to the Alberta Ferretti show, and can’t wait to give Hugh Hefner a run for his money in this spicy red velvet suit.”
"Blanket chic never felt so stylish. Attending Max Mara and Vogue dinner celebrating Teddy Bear Coat’s 10-year anniversary.”
"Squeezing in a Missoni fitting during the Milan Fashion Week madness. I’m a pro at efficiency, only trying on one to two looks max. I know my body, and I know what works.”
"Indulging in my breakfast basket all day long because, who needs a sit-down lunch when there’s so much to do?!”
"The Swarovski eyewear collection is absolutely stunning! I’m amazed by the way they incorporated a unique color theme in every room. It’s truly captivating!”
"Arriving at the Blumarine show. [Nicola] Brognano’s bold and intriguing vision took the new collection to another dimension.”
"Exploring Milan’s cafés is a dream, or so they say. In reality, I gulped down a shot of espresso like my life depended on it because—let’s face it—fashion waits for no one.”
"Just wrapped up a late-night hotel shoot in Tom Ford right after catching the incredible debut of Peter Hawkings’s collection. Feeling beyond inspired right now.”
"Checking out the new Rene Caovilla collection on the beautiful rooftop terrace before the Boss show. And what better way to soak in the glamorous vibes than a glass of bubbly? Classy and slightly tipsy, just like fashion week should be.”
More great fashion-week coverage this way.
