Anne Hathaway Wore the Surprising Dress Trend Only Fashion People Know About

One of the freshest trends to emerge from the S/S 23 runways is a dramatic, somewhat surprising dress trend, and it'll make you think of either Little Red Riding Hood or the '70s disco era—or Anne Hathaway. Over the past couple of years, Hathaway has emerged as quite the sartorial risk-taker, and she always pulls off whatever latest trend she's wearing effortlessly.

For the photo call for her latest film, She Came to Me, at the Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin yesterday, Hathaway and stylist Erin Walsh put together an Alaïa look from the S/S 23 collection that embraced the hooded-dress trend that also dotted the spring runways of Saint Laurent, Halpern, and Versace. (Hathaway's look is actually a bodysuit and skirt, but it comes across as a dress.) Unlike the athleisure-style dresses with hoods that we're used to, the 2023 hooded dresses are glamorous and cool. The trend is so new that there aren't many affordable versions on the market yet, but just wait—they'll be popping up before you know it.
