These Fall Madewell, COS, and H&M Items Are Very Much The Row Coded
Due to the nature of my job, I spend a lot of time analyzing runway shows and scrolling through images of exceptionally dressed people on Getty Images and Instagram. Because of these tasks, I'm able to look at a page of new arrivals and sort through which kinds of picks stand out and are comparable to the stylish items the most fashionable would outfit themselves in. For example, my most recent internet search has consisted of Harry Styles and Taylor Russell matching in The Row. Thus, my market search led to items that could create such looks at a more affordable price point.
Rather than gatekeep these finds, I figured I'd share them in case anyone else is looking for specific pieces for spring that encapsulate the look of an expensive wardrobe. In this case, they're from COS, H&M, and Madewell specifically. The new arrivals from these three retailers have been impressing me the most as of late—the proof is in all the links I've been sharing with my team, family, and friends. (Just yesterday, I shared a satin top from COS with a friend looking for something to wear for headshots, and she immediately purchased it.)
In this roundup, you'll find minimal yet tasteful accessories, fluid knitwear, and elevated wool coats. Barrel-leg trousers, leather tote bags, and chunky sweaters will also make an appearance—basically, everything that would be alluring to those who stalk the fanmade The Row Instagram accounts daily. Keep scrolling to shop.
I can confirm that COS's outerwear not only looks premium but feels it too. I'm currently in my third year with one and hope to wear it for plenty more. This one offers a great slouchy and boxy shape that can easily be layered over any outfit.
There's no need to compromise on comfort when there's a hoodie that looks as chic as this.
Similar to 2023, there are a lot of cape and scarf coats trickling into the market, and this one is a great option. I predict it'll be one of those trends that slowly transition into a seasonal wardrobe staple.
The Row's fall collection featured a few plaid pieces, and I think this sweater is a great way to emulate the same kind of look without copying it exactly.
The loose and baggy silhouette on this is everything. It isn't too much, and with the right belt and shoes, it looks very polished.
Throughout my fall market research, I've seen a lot of trench coats in a variety of price points, but this one makes it to my top five. It even outdoes some of the luxury counterparts I've come across.
Whoever said brown and black can't go together was trying to gatekeep the beautiful color combo for themselves. Try it out for yourself with this wool jacket.
H&M
H&M got the suede memo, and I'm thoroughly impressed with its offering. This jacket can make the simplest of outfits feel more luxe.
I'm having a hard time deciding whether I want these pants in gray or red. They're both just too good.
Butter yellow isn't losing steam for the fall—it's just being channels into knitwear and outerwear.
This may not be the warmest of coats, but it's roomy enough that you can fit in all the layering underneath.
See my note above. This dress is already stunning, but the necklace makes the whole look even more alluring.
The Row didn't invent half-zip sweaters, but its styling always adds so much interest to "boring" pieces like them. Get your hands on this $35 pick and channel your inner sporty chic.
If you do end up purchasing this wool-blend skirt, I'd recommend styling it with tights as seen above. It makes this under-$50 item feel so much more premium.
This bag could pair with any of the items featured in this roundup, and it would look fantastic.
Madewell
If you like the functionality of the Uniqlo, Baggu, or Lululemon bags but want something that looks more stylish, this is a great option to keep in mind.
Red is a color that pops up in The Row's collections a lot, and exudes this powerful and striking energy. These silky pants will offer that vibrant touch while keeping you comfortable no matter what your schedule looks like.
There are a lot of trench coats on the market, but this off-white one is standing out to me among the rest.
When I first saw this bag on TikTok, I couldn't believe that it was from Madewell. I popped into the store to see it firsthand, and can assure you it looks just as luxe IRL.
Alexa Chung's collection for Madewell is filled with investment-worthy items, but these workwear jeans are a purchase you'll truly get a ton of wear out of.
Sweater-vest season is quickly approaching, and a simple no-fuss pick like this is all you'll need.
I've always been fond of these drapey pants, but the new navy colorway has me ready to purchase. There's just something about wearing navy in the fall that will always look chic.
This might be a higher price point that most items featured above, but for suede, it's a lot less pricier than the options from The Row. The choice is up to you!
