I'm Building My Forever Wardrobe—These Are the Classic Pieces I'm Considering
Sponsor Content Created With Harvey Nichols
As readers of Who What Wear UK, you'll be well aware of our adoration of a capsule wardrobe. We've long sung the praises of these elevated foundation pieces, and we're not alone in the past few seasons, timeless style has finally got the recognition it deserves. Where once maximalism was the way to turn heads, an understated bag with perfectly cut jeans and an anti-trend coat is the eye-catching formula of 2024.
It's easy to see why these styles are so important in our wardrobes. They're foolproof to mix and match for simple yet very chic everyday outfits, and can also serve as the backdrop to display those occasional trending items you plan to dip your toe into this year, and any other year for that matter. As it's January, I've been analysing my wardrobe to see which items are serving me best and identifying the missing pieces from my capsule wardrobe that would make creating timelessly stylish looks even easier. Now it's time to fill in the gaps, and naturally, I've turned to Harvey Nichols.
Foundation pieces are the established items that come back every year—sometimes every season—to support our daily outfit builds. With such longevity in their design, it's worth investing a little more in high-quality styles that can live in your wardrobe for many years. That's where Harvey Nichols comes in. The retailer offers a one-stop shop for all your fashion needs and has curated a sleek edit of the most coveted classics for 2024. Plus, with Harvey Nichols Rewards, you can earn points on all your luxury purchases and convert them into cash rewards to spend in-store or online whilst unlocking personalised benefits.
Below, I've highlighted some of the key wardrobe heroes that every wardrobe will appreciate this year. There's denim in all forms—a reliable addition to any wardrobe as it works hard for day, evening and work looks, bridging all seasons. I've also included soft knitwear that can be layered up now and worn over the shoulders through the milder months. And I haven't forgotten those all-important accessories that pull a look together, from wear-forever black boots to a reliable tote you'll treasure.
