I’ve always been fascinated by Asian beauty, and my FYP is proof of that. I’m seriously in awe of the ingenious products and disciplined routines, and the packaging is always cute. I recently saw a video of a woman with perfect skin talking about Mochi Mochi Cream ($48), and based on the name alone, I needed to know more about it. What I learned: Damdam Skincare, a clean J-beauty brand, is the brains behind the viral cream, and its co-founder Giselle Go has the most enviable skin.

"Skincare has always been a focus in Asian beauty culture. There is a holistic way of approaching skincare and beauty here,” says Go. "Everything from what you eat to the ingredient list on your products to your daily movements—they all contribute to our skin health and greater wellness.” Growing up, Go says her mother often cooked with ancient Japanese plants such as snow mushroom. These ingredients are often overlooked, but they actually have major beauty benefits including increasing collagen, boosting hydration, and supplying vital antioxidants.

With that in mind, Go co-founded Damdam Skincare with a goal to create simple skincare rituals with time-honored ingredients—all in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way. Keep reading for some of Go’s ride-or-die products from Damdam, including the Snow Mushroom Pore Cleanser ($47), along with her other beauty and wellness must-haves.
