I'm the type of dresser who doesn't mind having to stand in front of my closet for 30, 45, or even 60 minutes if it means that when I'm done, I have a really great outfit on. Even so, sometimes I am just as guilty as the next person of craving the easy way out—that is, an immediate outfit that, therefore, took little to no effort to put together. It's harder than it looks, but with a certain pants trend inside your closet, getting dressed is a lot simpler than it's often made out to be. The bottoms in question? Drawstring pants, whether they're crafted out of silk, cotton poplin, or linen. Looking chic, put together, and carefree has never been more attainable than it is right now with every brand under the sun making their own version of the drawstring pants trend in 2025.

Jennifer Lawrence and Laura Harrier both like them, wearing drawstring pants frequently in New York and Los Angeles, respectively. London content creators like Lucy Williams and Monikh Dale swear by them, as do our very own Who What Wear editors. Together, they've proven that comfortable pants aren't just for lounging around the house or trips to the beach. They can be elevated, especially when styled correctly, and worn almost anywhere—no dressing-related stress required. Below, discover the draw of drawstring pants, every chic person's go-to summer bottoms when ease is priority number one.
