All My Workout Outfits Suddenly Feel Chic Thanks to This One Item
I now own it in multiple colors.
I've always felt strange getting dressed to go to the gym. Just wearing a sports bra and leggings feels deeply unnatural to someone like myself, who wears tulle and silk and animal print on a daily basis. My friends always joke that when they spot me on the street either going to and coming from my workout class, they can't recognize me because I don't look like myself.
Recently, I've been going to Barry's in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, three times a week. It's always been my favorite workout class and finally having a studio just one neighborhood over from where I live feels like a dream. And while getting to go so often has been a welcome addition to my routine, it's also really inspired me to up my workout outfit game. Whenever I leave I always feel my best, so I definitely have the desire these days to also look my best while I'm there too.
The first stop for building up a workout wardrobe that feels like me, was Free People movement. The brand not only makes some of my favorite workout clothing but also all of my most complimented pieces. After a couple minutes spent perusing recent offerings, I noticed the Don't Let Go sports bra and ordered one. After it arrived, I ordered three more in different colors, and am currently on my way to collecting them all.
To me, it's the perfect workout bra, especially for a workout like Barry's where I'm running and weight lifting and moving quickly between the two. It holds everything in place, makes me feel secure, but also has the kind of silhouette I'd opt to wear in my own day-to-day. It's simply the coolest sports bra I've ever seen and the only one I really do want to be spotted in.
I've also received plenty of compliments on it at Barry's, having multiple instructors ask my where it's from. It's such a statement piece I don't even feel the need to do much else, it makes me feel so confident even if just paired with a simple pair of black leggings. Finally, I can still feel like a fashion girl while sweating buckets.
