Women in their 50s Agree—This is the Most Elegant Shorts Trend Of the Summer
The most stylish dressers I know exclusively wear shorts in this trending length.
I've never considered the shorts in my wardrobe to be among my most elegant pieces. When I want to look polished during the summer, I typically reach for a satin dress or a white cotton skirt instead. But since spotting Tracee Ellis Ross stepping out in New York this week, I'm reconsidering my stance.
Wearing a pair of knee-grazing tailored Bermuda shorts, Tracee found the shorts trend that's just as refined as your chicest skirts or trousers. The longer length created a sleek, elongating effect, lending her outfit a sense of polish that summer looks can occasionally lack.
Of course, the styling played an important role, too. Pairing her tailored shorts with a checked button-down shirt neatly tucked in, Tracee nodded to one of autumn's biggest print trends whilst keeping the outfit light and seasonally appropriate. She finished the look with brown peep-toe heels, adding height and sophistication in one step.
Whilst a denim pair of shorts would have given the outfit a more casual feel, the tailored fabrication and longer Bermuda cut imbued the look with the same refined quality as a pair of sharp, wide-leg trousers.
