The 5 Items Our Editors Have on Their 2020 Wish Lists
Here at Who What Wear, we talk about shopping every day. Some items are timeless and cyclical, as in they always come back around. Others are entirely niche, unique and undeniable in demand. In our opinion, a well-curated wardrobe is made up of pieces from either end of the trend spectrum. In most cases, you need to balance the classic with the directional to set your style apart from the rest. And this is something the WWW team practise as well as preach.
Below, our editors have shared their wish lists for 2020. Although each editor has a very different sartorial stance, there's a common theme to each of their lists: They're made up of wardrobe essentials and pieces that are set to be at the top of the trend agenda next season.
From the shoes that have proved to be divisive amongst fashion circles and the bag that dominated 2019 to the sleekest pair of round-the-clock trousers and the necklace that'll go with everything you own, we've compiled the ultimate 2020 starter kit. Keep scrolling to see the pieces for yourself, and then start formulating your own 2020 wish list.
ALYSS BOWEN, SOCIAL MEDIA EDITOR
There must be a reason everyone raves about these jeans. I can't wait to find it out for myself.
I've always admired this bag from afar, so I'm making a point of investing in it in 2020.
EMMA SPEDDING, EDITOR
After writing the 2020 trend report, one of the items I want the most for spring is a simple polo shirt. The Albus Lumen ones are seriously chic.
Another 2020 key buy I'm very into is the short suit, and this Theory one is a real beauty.
If I have to wear a coat, it might as well be as jolly as physically possible.
JOY MONTGOMERY, SHOPPING EDITOR
Knitted tanks have become my winter-layering saviour, and I love the hue of this style.
The perfect dose of retro.
MAXINE EGGENBERGER, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR
I practically collect cream cardigans, and with its embellished buttons, this is style is near perfection.
ELINOR BLOCK, ASSISTANT EDITOR
I'll never not want an Isabel Marant knit.
Practical but still super fashiony. The ultimate garment, in my opinion.
I didn't want to give into it, but resistance is futile when it comes to Bottega.
ZOE ANASTASIOU, FASHION EDITOR
I can always rely on a double-breasted blazer to make my outfits feel sharp.
I'm a sucker for slip skirts, and this blush-pink shade will help bring my looks bang up to date.
I'm already thinking ahead to summer (the entirety of which I'll be wearing this dress).
Next, these are the most important fashion trends for spring/summer 2020…
