Simple Halloween Costume Ideas for When You Just Can't
Some people live for elaborate Halloween costumes that take weeks of planning. I am not one of those people. I'd much rather put on a cute pair of ears and call it a day, but sometimes that just won't cut it, and you need to look like you put in at least a little effort. Enter these seven simple Halloween costume ideas, inspired by things that fashion girls love—like Kate Moss and Zara.
We made it our mission to present you with ideas that are original yet effortless and stylish yet comfortable (save for Victoria Beckham circa 1998). Not only that, but you probably already have much of what it takes to create these easy Halloween costumes in your closet. And if you don't, we guarantee that you'll rewear whatever you have to buy in real life. Here's hoping that the below costumes make the holiday a little more painless for you.

The beauty of this costume is that you'll probably want to wear this when you actually visit Disney. Bonus points for a camera around your neck and a Disney park map.
What You'll Need: Herschel Supply Co. Settlement Backpack ($60); Junk Food Disney Crew-Neck Tee ($39); Madewell The Perfect Jean Shorts ($65); Superga 2750 Cotu Classic Sneakers ($65); Disney Minnie Mouse Animal Print Ear Headband ($25)
Zara's assortment of ballerina-inspired pieces this season provides everything you need to achieve your Center Stage dreams. Add a Zara shopping bag for a more literal interpretation.
What You'll Need: Zara Wide Strap Stretch Top ($15), Faux Leather Pleated Skirt ($46), and High Heel Ballet Shoes ($36)
An athleisure-inspired Gigi Hadid costume is as cool and comfortable as it gets.
What You'll Need: Tommy Hilfiger Gigi Hadid Printed Sweatshirt ($89); Ray-Ban Round-Frame Sunglasses ($153); Alo High Waist Airbrushed Leggings ($78); Adidas Adilette Ultra Slides ($35)
Given the abundance of '90s-inspired Calvin Klein gear available these days, this is an easy look to achieve. If you're really committed, go barefoot for authenticity (if you're going to be indoors, that is).
What You'll Need: Calvin Klein Monogram Logo T-Shirt ($35), High-Rise Straight Leg Jeans ($148), and Modern Cotton Bikini Briefs ($24)
Do as the VS Angels do backstage and sport a pink robe and flip-flops. Layer it over a slip dress if you prefer a little more coverage. Bonus: This costume is great for groups. (Reminder: Don't forget to take lots of kissy-face selfies.)
What You'll Need: Victoria's Secret Satin Satin Kimono ($31); Havaianas Slim Sandals ($26)
This one's greatness lies in the props. In addition to the sleek water bottle, we recommend a microphone headset, laptop computer or iPad, and spin shoes or high-top sneakers (they love high-top sneakers).
What You'll Need: Outdoor Voices Athena Crop ($45) and 7/8 Warmup Leggings ($75); CamelBak Eddy Water Bottle ($16); Soulcycle Headband ($16)
While not the most comfortable of the lot, you can't go wrong with Spice Girls–era Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice). Even better if you can acquire a handheld cordless mic and a bobbed wig.
What You'll Need: Urban Outfitters Ponte Bodycon Strapless Dress ($39); Sam Edelman Jolene Platform Sandals ($130)
