Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one editor, staffer, or influencer shares their top 25 must-haves or current wish-list items.
Three years ago, my husband and I embarked on an ambitious house hunt exclusively for a project home. TBH, we didn’t want anything built after 1940. Many of our friends started questioning our decision-making skills, but for us, it was important that we found a home with character, rich history, and enough space for us to let our creativity take over and make the house our home.
We finally found our perfect contender—one built in 1938 that checked the curb-appeal box and was in the neighborhood we had our eye on. Sure, a few window screens were falling off and the front door was a shade of red that made me want to cry, but it was ours, and we were ready to roll up our sleeves to get to work. We’ve made some progress over the years, but I’m still always looking for the best items to add to my home that match my classic style. Here are 25 décor and homeware pieces I have in my cart, from living-room accents to what I'm stocking in my kitchen cabinets.
L’Objet x Lito
24kt Gilded Porcelain Vase
The baby-blue shade of this vase lends perfectly to my favorite flowers.
H&M
Linen Cushion Cover
I'm fully aware that I have a toddler and a white couch, so these natural-hued linen pillows add a nice contrast to my living room (and double as props to cover fun stains).
CompletedWorks x Ekaterina Bazhenova Yamasaki
Seam, Solitude and Wake Set of Three Ceramic Vases
I’ve been more excited to decorate my built-in bookshelves with these vases that act as pieces of art more than anything else… even books.
Rabitti 1969
Amsterdam Leather Tissue Box
Sorry, it doesn't get more chic than a leather tissue box.
CB2
White Alabaster Rectangular Table Lamp
I love the alabaster base on this lamp—it looks more expensive than it actually is, and when bought as a pair, they can be the perfect bedside accents.
Métier
Leather Backgammon Set
My husband and I are Armenian, meaning backgammon a staple in our culture. A girl can dream of owning this elevated set.
Baccarat
Louxor Lead Crystal Catchall
This was on my list for Mother's Day last year, and I can say it's one of my favorites in the house.
L'Objet
Set of Four Terra Porcelain Napkin Rings
Every Friday night after our daughter has gone to sleep, we emerge as fun adults and have our best friends over for dinner. I like to "dress up” the table, even if we’re just having some pizza.
H&M
Linen-Blend Tablecloth
I love a good linen and white combo.
Bisanzio
Amethyst Glass Pitcher
… and a touch of pink.
Zara Home
Salt and Pepper Shakers
Though I’m not a huge natural-wood person, I do love touches of it throughout the house.
Le Creuset
White French Press
I’ve had my glass French press for close to five years now, so it’s time for a new one.
Farmhouse Pottery
Handmade Scrub Brush Set
A nice alternative to a traditional sponge that harbors so much bacteria.
Great Jones
The Dutchess
Can’t wait to make coq au vin in this.
Le Creuset
Coupe Mugs
Classics that deserve a special spot in my kitchen.
Richard Brendon
Fluted Crystal Water Jug
Another purposeful home item that doubles as a piece of art.
MacKenzie-Childs
Royal Check Tea Kettle
Checkered prints are a major fashion trend, but I’ve had my eye on this blue-and-white teapot to make a statement in the kitchen.
Diptyque
Lys Candle
Though this brand's candles are on every home-décor list, I have a special affinity for this lily scent, which isn’t as popular as the rest of the collection.
Williams Sonoma
Rosemary & Lavender Wreath
We recently changed said red door for one with a deep-brown color, so I’ve been looking for a natural wreath to hang on the new one. This combo teleports me to the French countryside, and I’m here for it.
Cutipol
Moon Salad Set
For entertaining purposes.
Parachute
Classic Supreme Towel Bundle
For linens, I always gravitate toward crisp white options.
The Magnolia Company
Lemon and Lime Citrus Trees
Ask anyone who knows me, and they’ll tell you how little of a plant person I am, but I aspire to keep something like this alive.
Sferra
Celine Throw
Big fan of only including neutrals in the living room.
Abrams
I Am Invincible by Norma Kamali
I usually opt for black books for my living room to add contrast against the bevvy of neutrals I have going on in there.
