Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one editor, staffer, or influencer shares their top 30 must-haves or current wish-list items.

Call me crazy all you want for already starting to build my fall wardrobe, but anyone who's attempted to do so starting in actual autumn knows 1.) how stressful it can be and 2.) how much of what you want is already sold out. Thinking ahead is never a bad thing, and if you follow my lead, I promise you'll come to thank me in time.

As we speak, brands are mostly consumed with their annual summer sales, but at the same time, most are sneakily dropping new collections full of transitional-weather buys that are perfect for those early fall weeks when it's still warm but we all have summer-fashion fatigue. We want to dip into suede, full-length denim, and boots instead of sweating our way through strictly linen pants and poplin dresses. Yes, you should absolutely shop the discounts for right-now deals, but once you're finished, I highly suggest you check out the new fall fashions launching all around you. When the first slightly chilly day hits and everyone else is panicking about their autumnal rotations, you'll be calm and collected knowing all too well that your wardrobe is already prepared for the season ahead.
