Years Later, Fashion People Are Still Obsessed With This Designer "It" Bag

The 2000s trends that have made a return to our wardrobes haven't been quite what we expected. We feared the ultra-low-rise jeans and shuddered at the thought of donning velour tracksuits again. But there's nothing to be scared of the noughties trends that have actually managed to elegantly weave their way into 2023 wardrobes. Baby tees and cargo pants are the blueprint of easy style today. Even wedge shoes have trickled back into the very best wardrobes around. In 2019, a Carrie Bradshaw classic made its way to the top of our shopping lists and has so far proven that not all trends fade out.

Thanks to Daniel Lee, the creative director of Bottega Veneta when the pouch was released, the clutch bag returned. Even more impressively, it has stuck around, and four years on this it-bag remains a highly coveted piece.

The Pouch is an oversized clutch with carefully gathered leather forming into the seamless closure at the top. It's roomier than a traditional clutch, and its simplicity makes it a classic investment piece. Lee also designed a version of the bag in Bottega Veneta's signature intrecciato weave. The first collection sold out almost immediately, while the new-season preorder option will likely be building a long waiting list.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is among the It bag's famous fans. Since it's launch, she has accumulated various iterations of the clutch, and shows them with countless outfits, modelling the bag's versatility.
