You Have to Watch the Moving Short Film Beyoncé Just Released

To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the surprise release of her self-titled album Beyoncé, the pop star surprised her fans (and the world) again with a surprise release of a different sort: an emotional, powerful, and artistic short film titled Yours and Mine.

Just shy of 12 minutes long, the video features imagery from her visual album, overlaid with Beyoncé herself revealing some very personal things about herself and what she's learned from her life's trials and tribulations. She talks about everything from love to sex to fame to feminism.

"Now that I'm famous, it's really, really difficult to do simple things," she says. "I think it's the hardest thing to give up. But my mother always taught me to be strong, and to never be a victim, never make excuses, never allow anyone else to provide for me things I know I can provide for myself. If I accomplished all of these things and had no one to share with, it would be worth nothing. You know, you need something real in order for any of this stuff to matter."
