Jorts are Trending—7 Stylish Shoes to Wear With Them

If you haven't already heard, jorts are trending for summer. This season's most-wanted styles are low-slung, loose, with a longline silhouette that hits anywhere between the lower half of the thigh to just past the knee. Denim bermuda shorts were spotted all over the SS25 runways, with designers such as Filippa K, Opéra Sport, and Zimmermann bringing a fresh and elevated perspective to the casual piece. Of course, the fashion set has already been embracing the style this season, pairing them with everything from polo tops to button-downs.
While jorts may feel intimidating at first, after doing a deep dive—and trying them myself—I found they're actually a lot more versatile than I ever gave them credit for. I personally find deciphering what shoes to wear with them is the most important first step towards a chic jorts outfit. The right shoes will inform how you intend to wear them. For example, a pair of strappy sandals will easily dress up a pair of jorts for a chic evening look. Pointed-toe kitten heels (and a blazer) will make them a chic option for work. A pair of fisherman sandals are ideal for a casual weekend look.
Below, I've rounded up seven specific shoe styles that I think work particularly well with the controversial denim trend. And for those on the fence about wearing jorts, this outfit inspo below may just encourage you to shop a cool new pair for yourself.
Jorts on the Runway:
7 Stylish Shoes to Wear With Jorts:
Pointed-Toe Heels
Give casual jorts a polished look by pairing them with chic pointed-toe heels, which will elevate and add elegance to your look.
Kitten-Heel Sandals
For a chic day-to-night look that feels fresh and on-trend, simply style a pair of minimalist '90s kitten-heel slip-on sandals with your jorts. A no-fail outfit formula.
Polished Slingback Flats
When you don't want to wear heels but you still want to look polished, then opt for a pair of sleek leather slingback flats. They'll pull together your casual look in an instant.
Flip-Flops
For a casual vacation, flip-flops feel fresh, easy, and youthful. Finish the look with a cute tank top or tee.
Fisherman Sandals
Hailey Bieber shows us that a pair of fisherman sandals adds an undeniably cool touch when paired with loose white denim bermuda shorts. Socks are optional.
Sneakers
If you're going casual with your jorts then opt for an of-the-moment pair of sneakers. Think gorpcore Soloman's or trendy suede Adidas Originals. Add socks like the Gen-Z girlies for an extra cool touch.
Ballet Pumps
Whether you go for flat ballerinas or block heel ballet pumps, the prim and proper classic shoe adds a chic contrast to the casual nature of relaxed jorts.
