The One Jacket Style I've Worn More Than Any Other This Year

I don't know about you, but if, like me, you've been working from home over the last six months, you may have unwittingly developed your very own lockdown capsule collection, (i.e., a rotation of staples that you've instinctively reached for day-in and day-out). For many of us, this will invariably include a few more elasticated waistbands and slippers than our normal wardrobe capsules, as comfort and practicality have, naturally, moved to the top of our priority list.

Best shackets 2020

Personally, the shacket—a shirt/jacket hybrid— is one of the items that I have worn the most over the course of 2020. I have a leopard print style from Ganni and a long-line shacket from Sézane, and together they have been thrown on most days, with everything from tracksuit bottoms and jeans to midi dresses and skirts. For summer, they're the ideal top layer, and in winter they're light enough to be layered under a coat. If the last six months have shown anything, it's that I really couldn't live without one in my wardrobe.

Last year's thick wool iterations are sticking around for the new season, and are a great option if you're wanting more warmth from your shacket. & Other Stories' cult wool jacket has returned in a variety of chic shades, and we have it under good authority that they look even better IRL. There are also plenty of lighter varieties—my favorite being '70s-inspired belted denim styles, which look so good with color-clashing jeans. Whatever your preference, there'll be a shacket for you. This jacket is consistently a top seller at & Other Stories.

Like clockwork every fall, plaid comes out from hiding.

The perfect way to take the tie-dye trend into fall and winter.

I'd wear this beautiful coat with flat, lace-up boots.

Army green will never go out of style.

Since I can't afford a Chanel tweed jacket, I'm constantly on the lookout for other versions.

Yep, this is exactly how I'd style this jacket.

I love how this baby blue jacket is styled with a silver necklace.

I love the quilted detail on this jacket.

Don't overlook brown colors for fall.

Next, 7 coat trends you won't regret in 10 years—promise.
