Tonnes of New Perfumes Launched This Month—These Are the 10 That Stood Out
As a beauty editor, I often get asked what my favourite part of my job is. Although there are so many things I could say, one thing I love more than anything else is getting to write about fragrances on a daily basis. I've been obsessed with trying different perfumes for as long as I can remember, as there's something so transformative about wearing a new scent. Even if I'm having a bad day, one spritz of my favourite fragrance has the power to make me feel that little bit better.
With spring in full swing, and summer on the horizon, lots of brands are bringing out new perfumes for the season ahead. My inbox is pretty much full of press releases and my desk is overflowing with samples, so I've been spending the last few weeks sorting through everything and selecting the stand-out fragrance launches from the last month.
I've included my top ten picks below, and trust me when I say that these scents are not to be missed. From unexpected fashion and fragrance crossovers to classic perfumes that have been reimagined for the warmer months, keep on scrolling for the best new perfume launches from April, and get ready to take your spring fragrance collection to the next level...
The Best New Perfume Launches
1. Acne Studios Par Frederic Malle
Key notes: Aldehydes, rose, violet, orange blossom, peach, vanilla, sandalwood, frankincense and musk
Possibly the coolest fragrance crossover of all time, Frederic Malle has created the perfect spring scent in collaboration with Acne Studios. Designed to capture the spirit of the Stockholm-based fashion brand, the perfume features clean, soapy aldehydes that are brought to life by citrusy orange blossom, sweet peach and warming vanilla. The fresh, sparkling scent is the perfect everyday option for the warmer months, and I have no doubt that the chic bottle will soon be all over our Instagram feeds.
2. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Tiger Lily
Key notes: Coconut milk accord, tiger lily accord, mango accord and benzoin
I have been a fan of Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb fragrance for as long as I can remember, so I was so excited to see that the brand has introduced a new addition to the collection. This warm, summery scent opens with notes of creamy coconut milk, before juicy mango bursts onto the scene. Trust me, this perfume will earn you so many compliments.
3. Limited Edition Parfums De Marly Delina
Key notes: Cashmeran, musk, vetiver, Turkish rose, peony, vanilla, rhubarb, lychee and bergamot essence
Parfums de Marly's Delina fragrance may not be new, but the brand has brought out a limited edition collectible bottle featuring floral motifs inspired by 18th-century interiors. This warm, sweet, floral scent is my go-to for the spring months, and as I'm almost running out, I will definitely be treating myself to this new, exclusive edition.
4. Kilian Paris Sunkissed Goddess
Key notes: Coconut, tiare flower and ylang-ylang essence
As the name suggests, this new fragrance from Kilian Paris will have you dreaming of evenings spent on sandy beaches with a cocktail in hand. It definitely has a tropical feel thanks to creamy coconut and sweet tiare flower, while ylang ylang adds a rich, sensual, expensive-smelling edge. I like to think of it as a holiday date-night in a bottle.
5. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Flora Verde
Key notes: Sambac absolute, sandalwood, musk, pink pepper, Brazilian gardenia, Italian bergamot, coconut water and orange bigarade
Anyone that knows me knows that I pretty much only wear Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess scent in the summer months. However, the latest version might just be my new go-to. This fragrance is such a fun, vibrant take on the classic scent, with spicy pink pepper, zingy bergamot and sensual sandalwood leaving a lasting impression.
6. Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle Tiare
Key notes: Lemon, gardenia and tiare flower
Aerin does some of the chicest fragrances out there, and the new Mediterranean Honeysuckle Tiare perfume is no exception. Sparkling lemon and grapefruit awaken the senses while tropical tiare flower settles sweetly into the skin. This scent is bursting with juicy, citrusy, warming notes that will have you booking a holiday ASAP.
7. Armani My Way Nectar
Key notes: Bourbon, vanilla, white musk, tuberose absolute heart, bergamot, orange blossom and pear accord
If you like fruity, floral fragrances for the spring and summer months, then I highly recommend checking out Armani's latest addition to the My Way collection. With a warm, creamy base of vanilla and musk, this scent lingers beautifully on the skin. However, sweet pear, citrusy orange blossom and sparkling bergamot add an unexpected freshness that will have you hooked.
8. Creed Queen of Silk
Key notes: Vanilla, myrrh, ambroxan, cedarwood, musk, tuberose, passion fruit, patchouli and saffron
This intoxicating scent has been created to embody the elegance of silk, and with heady, floral notes such as patchouli and tuberose, spritzing this really does feel like wrapping yourself in the most luxurious of silk gowns. Soft vanilla and amber add a warm, comforting yet captivating base that is sure to earn you endless compliments.
9. Jo Loves With Love From Positano
Key notes: Orange oil, bergamot and star anise
New from Jo Loves, With Love From Positano is inspired by Malone's trip to the popular Italian town. Notes of zesty orange oil and bergamot certainly pack a punch, but the addition of sweet star anise brings a beautifully balanced finish.
10. L'Object Kerylos
Key notes: Yuzu, grapefruit, galbanum and white musk
Created in collaboration with master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, this new fragrance from L'Object is not to be missed. Inspired by the Mediterranean, ripe notes of mandarin and grapefruit take centre stage. I spritzed this in the office and everyone asked me what I was wearing, so I already know that I'm onto a winner.
