This Summer's Hottest Swimwear Trend Probably Isn't What You'd Expect

Bella Hadid and her model gang might be championing the sort of high-cut thong bikini bottoms that are synonymous with the ’90s, but there’s more demure swimwear movement going on in the real world right now. The term “modest bikini” is being furiously looked up on Pinterest, while fashion marketplace Lyst reported that bikinis with high waists (which are typically much lower cut than the ’90s hip-bearing styles) were the most searched-for shape in the UK last year.

And it's not all about bikinis. Scroll through your Instagram feed and you'll likely spot a number of influencers in a demure one-piece in place of daring cut-out iterations, meaning the modesty trend extends to all areas of our swimwear.
