I Always Get Asked About These 17 Fashion Finds, so I Made a List of Them

You know those pieces that you seem to get inquiries about every time you wear them? I've noticed that these items typically lean more toward closet staples than my ultra-trendy pieces, which always surprises me. It also slightly disappoints me when I'm jazzed about something new and people instead stop me to ask who makes the white T-shirt I'm wearing it with. I've chalked this up to practicality because when someone's wearing a great wardrobe staple that you know you'll wear over and over again, it's worth doing some investigating.

Since there are quite a few items I constantly get asked about, I figured it might be worth sharing here so that if you find yourself in the market for any of these you have a direct confirmation from me that it's worth buying. From the perfect white T-shirt to the most effortless wrap dress to the cropped sweatshirt that hits at just the right spot on your waist, below are the 18 best fashion finds in my closet that people always ask me about.

This cropped Reformation sweatshirt earns me more compliments than I can count. Seriously, I wrote a whole story about it. There's something about the relaxed fit and where it hits on your waist that makes it the most perfectly proportioned cropped sweatshirt. It's also insanely soft, so I basically live in it (even pre-COVID), so much so that I have it in two colors and just might purchase a third.

I've been living in this Beyond Yoga workout set this past year because it's both comfortable and functional. The fabric is ultra-soft but holds you in through a workout without ever feeling stretched out (even post-yoga). I'm particular about the length of bike shorts and find most are too short, but these hit at just the right spot on my thigh to be flattering but also keep me covered in downward dog. This is my go-to outfit for running errands and I get asked about this set almost every time.

Staud's Moon Bag is a great statement piece that's actually functional. I have other bags that look great but are so impractical that I find I rarely use them—whether it be because they're so tiny my phone doesn't fit or because the strap doesn't fit on my shoulder. The Moon Bag fits perfectly under your arm and holds everything I need with ease, and although it doesn't close at the top the structured shape stays upright so I don't have to worry about anything spilling out. The shape is what draws people to inquire about it, but the functionality is what causes me to gush about it back.

This entire outfit of basics is the perfect example of what I mentioned earlier—they aren't overly trendy but they're quality versions of each basic that people want in their closet. The white tee is my favorite one I own (and I own quite a few) because it's fitted without being tight and opaque without being sheer. These Agolde jeans marry a vintage feel with a modern fit, which always sparks people to ask about them. And the leather tote is the best work bag I've ever owned (I wrote a whole story devoted to it): It fits my laptop and everything else I need while remaining sleek and compact.

I'm telling you, it's the simple things. This $20 cropped cami hits at the perfect spot on your waist to pair with any high-waisted bottoms, and it's simplicity allows you to wear it with virtually anything. I have it in four colors (it comes in 18) and wear them all constantly. These Re/Done jeans are one of the most comfortable I own, and similar to the Agolde ones I described earlier, have a cool vintage feel.

Everyone knows the value of a good LBD, but it took me a while to find mine. Then this Réalisation number came along, the clouds parted, and I just knew. It's the ideal mini length and made of fabric that can be dressed up or down with a simple shoe swap. I had it taken in just slightly at the bust to ensure the perfect fit because I knew this would be a dress I wear forever.

There's no arguing that cozy sweaters are the best, but when you find one that legitimately feels like a teddy bear, people notice. The ultra-soft, fuzzy fabric of this Camila Coelho Collection sweater really turns heads. I also love pairing it with my Dr. Martens, and although they're as iconic as shoes get, people still double-check the brand when I wear them.

The abalone shell in this Cinco ring always demands attention. It catches the light beautifully and makes a statement without being too over-the-top.

Meet my all-time favorite wrap dress. I own this Reformation style in two colors and wear them on repeat during the warmer months. The fabric is beyond comfortable and the wrap detail makes it ultra-flattering. Seriously, I've gotten half of my friends to buy one as well. And these Iro boots are a classic ankle-boot style that people take notice of. The leather is buttery soft and the block heels feel polished yet comfortable.
