I Just Found the Prettiest Throw-On Heatwave Dress for Under £100

I'm not usually a dress person, but when the mercury starts hitting over 25º, even I find myself reaching for breezy, floaty styles. You just can't fight the fact that throwing on a light dress in the morning is the easiest way to combat the heat while still looking chic. Plus, when there's not even a jacket needed, pulling a pretty dress from your wardrobe and slipping on your favourite sandals on the way out the door requires absolutely minimal brain space—which we could all do with on rushed, sweltering summer mornings.

So, with this serious heatwave continuing into next week, I thought I'd do some scrolling through the new summer collections to find some of the best pretty, easy dresses to combat the heat. I found a number of great styles, but there was one in particular that stood out to me as being the ultimate feel-good heatwave dress. You'll probably be unsurprised to hear it comes from & Other Stories—the high street mecca for beautiful dresses. And while the brand has many to choose from for 2023, it was the Tiered Babydoll Midi Dress that caught my eye.

It's one of those dresses you don't have to worry about—there's no potential for sweat patches, clingyness or VPL. It's not tied to any particular trend, so it feels like a timeless addition to your summer wardrobe. And most importantly, it's versatile—you can dress it up with a heeled strappy sandal for weddings or events, but you can also throw it on with your Birkenstocks and pop to the corner shop in it. Meaning you'll get more than your money's worth out of it summer after summer, especially as it sits under £100.

The tiered babydoll dress has just landed in a pretty blue floral print and a gorgeous cerulean blue, but if my expert knowledge of & Other Stories dresses is anything to go by, they will likely start selling out fast.

Keep scrolling to shop the dresses, and more heatwave-ready styles I've found recently.
