Now that we're approaching winter, I think it's safe to say that the time has come to get serious about our outerwear game. You're probably layering up a little extra right now and maybe even dusting off your heavier toppers from the back of your closet, which is why I thought it would be fun to go shopping for some fresh options that don't feel like they're major investments.

In the interest of staying within my own budget, I turned to my favorite retailers ZaraH&MMango, and more which always stock the best affordable winter coats every season. I spent the morning going through each of their outwear sections and hundreds of product pages later, 29 coats stood out as expensive-looking while staying under $300. It includes a mix of bright statement makers and reinvented classics, so I mean it when I say there's something for everyone. Scroll on to find your next seasonal topper.

Up next, the 10 staples cool Scandi girls are convincing me to buy.
