My Wish List Is Full of Designer Coats, But These Under-$300 Picks Rival Them
Now that we're approaching winter, I think it's safe to say that the time has come to get serious about our outerwear game. You're probably layering up a little extra right now and maybe even dusting off your heavier toppers from the back of your closet, which is why I thought it would be fun to go shopping for some fresh options that don't feel like they're major investments.
In the interest of staying within my own budget, I turned to my favorite retailers Zara, H&M, Mango, and more which always stock the best affordable winter coats every season. I spent the morning going through each of their outwear sections and hundreds of product pages later, 29 coats stood out as expensive-looking while staying under $300. It includes a mix of bright statement makers and reinvented classics, so I mean it when I say there's something for everyone. Scroll on to find your next seasonal topper.
There's nothing like layers of languid camel pieces to look like your net worth is higher than it actually is.
People on TikTok have been comparing this to a designer version, and for good reason.
Even though it's a little higher than my $300 threshold, I just had to include this one. The exaggerated shoulders and structured shape lend heavy Balenciaga vibes.
Trust me, leather (and faux leather) trench coats are outfit-making pieces.
The S/S 2023 runways were flooded with car coats. This shape and sunny color will transition well from winter into spring.
Flight jackets have been trending all fall and I expect their shearling-lined counterparts to have the same effect for winter.
A classic coat like this is guaranteed to be in your closet for years.
The kind of topper that elevates all the basics you wear it with.
Channel the Saint Laurent runway by styling this over sleek maxi hemlines in the same shade.
Perfect for faking that you put a lot of effort into getting dressed.
I've been eyeing a designer version, but this one is honestly making me reconsider.
This brand always comes through on the elevated basics, and its coats are no different.
