Zara Has Spoken—These Are the 8 Shoe Trends That Count Right Now
There are a lot of things that Zara gets right—personally, I think it creates some of the best blazers on the high street—but I would argue that one of the biggest jewels in its product-offering crown is shoes. In the last five years or so, Zara has upped its footwear game tenfold, producing some of the most coveted shoes out there—from the interwoven leather sliders it brings out every summer to the leather knee boots fashion people are quick to snap up the minute the first chill permeates the summer air, it’s in your benefit to keep up to date with its new shoe releases, as seldom do they hang around for long. Now, are you keen to see the Zara shoe trends 2022 has in store? Right this way…

Heels are very much back on the style agenda for 2022, and Zara is tapping into them in exemplary fashion. From on-trend platforms reminiscent of the styles seen on the S/S 22 runways to jewel-encrusted slingbacks that nod to those created by Gucci last autumn, for those who love to wear and collect heels, Zara’s shoe department is akin to a sweet shop.
But it’s not only great heels we’ve found—Zara’s new offering of chic flats is perfect for adding polish to your looks. And if you’re looking to update your sneaker selection with some fresh kicks? You guessed it—Zara's got the pair fashion people are favouring. With eight trends in total, you’re bound to find your sole mate. (I’m sorry, but it had to be done.) Now, all you need to do is scroll on to see them.
1. CLEVER CLOGS
Every spring, clogs make a quiet reappearance, but this year, there’s nothing quiet about their impact on the style scene. High-heel styles will help dress up any of our daily wares, while flat iterations are serving as the style set’s new slip-on of choice.
2. RAZZLE DAZZLE
I have a hunch that people will be making the most of every opportunity to dress up this year. An early indicator that this will be true? Zara’s shoe department is dripping in crystals and rhinestones right now.
3. KELLY GREEN
This is the year of bright, bold colours. In fact, so many saturated shades were prevalent on the runway you can throw just about any colour on and know it’ll be "in.” However, if you invest in one hue for spring, I recommend making it trending kelly green, which Bottega Veneta brought back last year.
4. FISHERMAN'S FRIEND
Although Zara is serving up sparkle and higher-than-high heels for spring, the brand hasn’t completely turned its back on practicality and comfort. Cue fisherman sandals—the sort you used to wear when you were 6, only the jelly texture has been replaced with luxe leather and suede.
5. RUN, DON'T WALK
Y2K style continues into spring, with retro-style running shoes fast becoming the trainer of choice for Instagram and TikTok content creators. They might not feature recognisable branding, but Zara has nailed the aesthetic with its broad array of runners.
6. NEW HEIGHTS
Platform shoes were all over the S/S 22 runways, so it was inevitable that they’d make their way onto the high street, too. No brand, however, is as dedicated to the trend as Zara, which has honed in on platform sandals for the season ahead.
7. LOAFERS FOR SPRING
Loafers are a fashion style staple, but it’s easy to default to classic shades of black or burgundy, which can often look too harsh or heavy set against the lighter fabrications and whimsical prints of the warmer months. Enter Zara’s edit of loafers in spring-fresh colours.
8. SO FAUX
Chances are you mightn’t want to be wearing your boots come May, but there is another shoe trend born in winter that you can carry on wearing into summer: shearling-lined sandals. And Zara has plenty of the faux variety to go around.
