Some of the best creations are born out of necessity—at least that was the case with Cinque, a fashion label specializing in elegant robe coats. The brand’s signature style was dreamed up on a trip abroad when its founder noticed there was an item missing from her wardrobe. “I was traveling in Paris and realized I needed to create the perfect piece in my wardrobe that held from day to night,” recalls Grace Fuller, founder of Cinque and jewelry editor at W magazine. “I made a few robe coats for myself and then launched my business.”

And celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski and Martha Hunt have caught on to the luxe robes. A scroll through the brand’s Instagram shows celebs and fashion insiders wearing the fur-trimmed styles as well as photos from The Met that served as points of inspiration. Worn with everything from jeans and a T-shirt to fancier heels, the robes stand up to Fuller’s initial aim of crafting the perfect day-to-night pieces, combining confident style with effortlessness. Ahead, shop pieces from the collection.
