In the latest game of fashion musical chairs, Virgil Abloh is officially in at Louis Vuitton. The New York Times confirms that the Off-White designer will be the brand's new menswear artistic director, succeeding Kim Jones after he departed back in January.
"I feel elated,” Abloh told the NYT. "This opportunity to think through what the next chapter of design and luxury will mean at a brand that represents the pinnacle of luxury was always a goal in my wildest dreams. And to show a younger generation that there is no one way anyone in this kind of position has to look is a fantastically modern spirit in which to start."
The newspaper reports that Abloh will continue to design his Off-White label and that we can expect his Louis Vuitton debut to come in June during Paris Men's Fashion Week. We can't wait to see what he has in store for the venerable brand.
