I'm the first one to admit that I love a good soirée. If you invite me to a party, the odds are high that I will RSVP "absolutely." You see, I'm one of those really extroverted people that sometimes fall under the category of "life of the party" (if I do say so myself). I'm just one of those people who is always down. I love to dance, I love to meet new people, and I love a great cocktail. There's nothing better to me than having a great party on your calendar to look forward to, except maybe planning an outfit to wear to said epic party. Outfit planning for a party is an art form. You have to take into consideration a lot of different factors.

What kind of party is it? Are you going to a rooftop party for your friend's new engagement or a day party in Brooklyn? Are you off to a chic dinner party uptown or your friend's birthday bash downtown? Is a beach party coming up? Are you attending your friend's wedding and planning the wedding-guest look of the year? Whatever the occasion, the key is to think about the event you're headed to and what vibe you're going for. For parties, you definitely want to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in, but this is also your time to step out of your comfort zone and spice things up a bit—it's a party, after all!

There are six outfit formulas that I always keep in my back pocket when I know I have a great party on the horizon. Keep scrolling to see which six foolproof party looks I swear by.

Tank top + trousers + sandals

While this look is easy, it's an absolute winner when styled right. You can go the monochromatic route like the outfit above or pair your favorite neutral tank with bold printed pants. This is the type of outfit I would suggest for a barbecue or a day party.

Miniskirt + tank + statement earrings

This look has Gen Z written all over it. To me, this printed tank screams cool. Adding the miniskirt makes this look feel flirty and party-ready. I'd wear this to a party in the city on a Friday or Saturday night.

Statement gown + clutch

Calling everyone with calendars full of summer weddings! This outfit combo is for you. The Anna October dress featured above looks straight out of a fairytale. Weddings are all about romance, and the full skirt adds so much drama. I can't get enough of it. Pairing a statement gown like this with the perfect clutch is the ultimate way to look stunning when attending a wedding or any other formal event on your summer calendar.

All-White Look + Colorful Bag

One of the biggest perks of summer is that all-white outfits aren't just allowed—they're encouraged. Adding a colorful bag makes the look feel even more summery and fun. I'm reaching for this look when I have a luncheon, daytime event, brunch, or day party.

Midi dress + shoulder bag + Pumps

This look is my go-to out of all the looks on this list. It just feels so NYC to me. Easy yet stylish at the same time. Whether you're running to drinks, an event after work, a first date, a party, or dinner, you're guaranteed to turn heads in this classic night-out look.

Matching set + chic sunnies

A two-piece set is one of my all-time favorite looks. It's so easy to style. It looks so put together and always prompts people to ask, "Where did you get that"? I love this look for a girl's night, a rooftop party, or even a fun event.
