Ask 10 people what their go-to summer staples are and you'll likely get ten different answers. Some lean toward trendier picks while others like to stick to the classics, and somewhere in the latter group falls my incredibly stylish mother who's actually no stranger to this whole contributor thing

Taking that (and the fact that summer is finally here) into consideration, I recently decided to tap her and have her share just what she thinks the most timeless and investment-worthy warm-weather essentials are. Graciously, she delivered, providing us with eight undeniably important picks from frocks to footwear, and today, you get to read about each one and, of course, shop them in a range of styles and price points. To get started taking it all in, simply keep scrolling.

1. Woven Bags

"A great straw or raffia bag can be worn both by the beach or out to dinner and will always be a staple."

2. Printed Sundresses

"I love to take advantage of the summer season and wear as many light sundresses as possible. They just the most fitting on a warm, beautiful day."

3. Flat Leather Sandals

"They last for years, never go out of style, and are one of the chicest options for a summer flat."

4. Colored Sunglasses

"Colored sunglasses (as opposed to black) are not only functional in summer but add an interesting element to every outfit."

5. Linen-Everything

"Even if you're just at home, wearing linen in summer automatically makes you feel like you're on vacation."

6. Gold Jewelry

"Gold jewelry has always been timeless, but it looks especially good when paired with a light and bright, summer-ready wardrobe."

7. Wide-Leg Pants

"Aside from being cool and comfortable for the warmer months, wide-leg pants are extremely versatile and can be easily dressed up or down."

8. Espadrilles

"Summer-ready espadrilles are widely regarded as one of the most timeless shoe styles and I couldn't agree more."

Next, I shop all day for a living—these are the coolest things I've seen this month.

Editor-at-Large

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2020, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch 90 Day Fiancé.
