March is historically the month when I kick my spring cleaning into high gear, and right now the anticipation to pack my puffer coats, beanies, and gloves into the darkest depths of my closet is enough to drive a woman mad. While I will most certainly initiate my biannual wardrobe swap very soon, there is one item that will stay front and center in my closet: Clarks Original Desert Boots.

This year I will be wearing this timeless boot style more than sneakers (and sandals and slides) with my everyday spring outfits. My inspiration? Two women I follow on Instagram, Janelle Marie Lloyd and Tania Sarin Araradian, who both recently posted in these suede desert boots from Clarks. They're the perfect practical and stylish footwear option to wear for every occasion, from work to casual weekends. See exactly how to style desert boots for spring below.

Lloyd is a master at polished-casual dressing, something I'm always trying to achieve. "It looks like I got dressed in my hubby’s closet in all the best ways," she says of her oversize leather blazer and relaxed denim outfit. Leather blazer? For spring? Yes and yes. Lloyd tells me, "Leather isn’t just for fall and winter anymore. It’s having a moment for spring in lighter hues."

What I particularly love about this outfit is the neutral color palette in a mix of luxe textures. The olive footwear pops against the brown bag and blazer and that white T-shirt lets everyone know it's officially spring.

Lloyd proves the casual suede boots look just as cool with a matching knit skirt–and-sweater set. She's all about comfort whether she's in New York or traveling elsewhere, making the footwear an ideal choice for so many occasions.

Clarks Desert Boots were first launched in 1950 and designed with a crêpe sole to provide traction and comfort while walking in sand. That's why they are perfect for outdoor activities according to Lloyd, who says she'd wear hers with a casual Bohemian outfit and a hands-free belt bag.

Araradian is also planning to wear her Clarks Desert Boots on repeat this spring. She's based in Los Angeles, where the weather is already cooperating, meaning this cool plaid shirt jacket is completely optional.

I really like how casual this outfit feels without entering sloppy territory. Pairing slightly oversized apparel with a desert boot is an easy formula for achieving this off-duty style.

Here's another great example of an everyday spring look Araradian wears regularly. Skinny jeans and desert boots are always a go-to outfit combo in my book—especially for L.A. girls—and lightweight outerwear makes things feel a bit more fun and practical for spring. "I've always been a fan of wearing a lightweight trench and boots this time of year. It's perfect for the weather and so easy to throw together," Araradian says.

I also appreciate that Araradian doesn't shy away from wearing all black just because the temps are slowly rising. I favor black jeans year-round, and this look is just further proof that there are certain items, be it boots or denim, that transcend seasons.
