Here's How the Fashion Set Is Styling the Hottest Accessory of 2025
The hottest accessory of 2025? A printed satin scarf. Yes, you can probably borrow it from your grandma’s closet, and yes it’s the most in-demand piece to finish an outfit. This summer, the scarf transitioned from uptown polish to downtown cool. The NYC fashion set wore scarves as belts around their waists over trousers and skirts, which emerged as the unofficial uniform of the season.
Looking to fall, I expect to see the accessory styled in even more inventive ways. For his debut collection for Celine, Michael Rider showcased a number of looks on the runway, which were styled with the runway’s hero scarves in a range of ways. Stylist Brian Molloy was behind the looks and has also brought his inventive styling to brands including The Row and Tory Burch—looks that are often the blueprint for how the style set gets dressed in the months ahead. It’s only a matter of time before the scarf styling at Celine takes hold of the fashion scene. Ahead, the ways I expect it to play out in 2025.
