Holly Thaggard, the founder of the beloved SPF brand, built the skincare empire with the goal to reduce the epidemic of skin cancer after the diagnosis of a close friend at the young age of 29.
With Supergoop!’s playful name, spirited branding, and innovative formulas, Thaggard shifted the sunscreen stereotype from a chore before the beach into a desired integral part of your everyday routine. Since its launch, Supergoop! has been included in Allure’s "Best of Beauty" list six years in a row, is sold in over 1700 retailers, remains Sephora's best-selling SPF, and has doubled its growth since 2018.
Prior to the inception of Supergoop!, Thaggard worked as an elementary teacher and, impressively, a professional harpist. Throughout her time in the classroom, Thaggard discovered the disregard for everyday sunscreen use and the important need to address SPF usage for children. Today, Thaggard has come full circle with Supergoop!’s school program, which works to change the state laws of sunscreen in the classroom and supplying Supergoop! in about 3000 classrooms across the United States.
