I've Done the Research—These Are the 6 Haircuts Scandi Girls Always Ask For
I'm off to Copenhagen next week, and I could not be more excited. It's my first time visiting the Denmark capital, so I've been doing loads of research on Instagram to see where all the cool girls eat, drink and shop. Since looking at all of their Instagram accounts, not only have I realised that Scandi girls have great style, but they have great hair, too. In fact, all of their hairstyles seem to have that effortless, "I just woke up like this" vibe, and I want in.
Therefore, I've made it my mission to research some of the most popular Scandi-girl haircuts out there, and these are the styles that I have been seeing over and over. From the butterfly cut to the classic bob, there is definitely something for everyone, but what I love most about these haircuts is that they all have a Scandi edge which makes them seem so much cooler. In fact, just writing this article has got me considering making a very last minute appointment with my hairdresser before I head off on my trip.
If you're also thinking about switching up your hairstyle for autumn and winter, keep on scrolling for all the Scandi inspo you could ever need...
1. Face-Framing Layers
Face-framing layers are such an easy and quick way to make any haircut look ultra chic. Whether you like to wear your hair up or down, they can add that little bit of extra dimension, and it seems that they come Scandi-girl approved.
The best bit about this haircut is that you can tailor it to suit you. If you want your layers to look similar to curtain bangs you can get them cut a little bit shorter, or if you want them to blend into the rest of your hair for a natural look, longer is the way to go.

If you want to add volume and bounce to your face-framing layers, try blow drying your hair with a brush like this one from Beauty Pie.
Then, add a small amount of styling cream to finish things off.
2. The Undone Bob
We all know that bob hairstyles are set to be huge this season, and the Scandi girls are loving the 'undone' look. This effortless style is all about embracing your natural hair texture. In fact, this is probably one of the most low-maintenance bob hairstyles out there.
After seeing this pic, I'm fully convinced that I need to get the chop.

This spray from Curlsmith helps to enhance natural curls and waves.
If you prefer a curl cream, then The Inkey List have got you covered.
3. The Butterfly Cut
The butterfly cut has been everywhere at the moment, and I can totally see why. Not only is it bang on trend, but it's the perfect way to add body and movement to the hair while still keeping your natural length. thanks to the mix of short and long layers.
If it's good enough for the Scandi girls, then it's definitely good enough for me.
Shop the Trend:
To keep your butterfly cut looking nice and bouncy, make sure to deep clean your hair with a detox shampoo.
5. A Full Fringe
It really doesn't get much chicer than a full fringe. Although this haircut is an absolute classic, it's definitely growing in popularity, and I love the way that it adds an edge to any outfit.
The haircut suits all hair types, so don't be afraid to let your natural curls shine through.
Shop the Trend:
Fringes can be hard to style, but these mini straighteners make things so much easier.
Alternatively, keep your fringe nice and curly with this slim curling wand.
5. The Lob
Say hello to the 'lob'. This hairstyle is essentially a long bob, but I love how the Scandi girls are curling the ends of their hair inwards to instantly elevate the look.
Trust me, this haircut is timeless.
Shop the Trend:
For a healthy, shiny finish, I recommend a hair oil like this one from Gisou.
A shine spray is another great option to keep your hair looking as healthy as possible.
6. Long Layers
To keep long hair interesting, request long gradual layers from your hairstylist, just as Scandi girls do.
Whether you wear your hair straight or curly, long layers will help to add a sense of movement and dimension to your cut.
Shop the Trend:
Tousle a little of this finishing cream through the ends of your hair to create definition and separation in your layers.
Boosting and lifting your roots not only adds volume, but is a great way to give more movement to your lengths.
