Flip-Flops Are Making a Comeback—Here Are 3 Cool Outfits to Wear With Them
Sponsor Content Created With Havaianas
From platform heels to sporty dad sandals, quite a few footwear trends are popping up this summer. But none are as wearable, comfortable, or affordable as rubber flip-flops. And fashion girls like myself aren't just wearing them to the beach, but also with everyday 'fits (no matter how many miles away the nearest body of water may be). The trend had a huge resurgence at Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2018, when everyone showed up in Havaianas flip-flops styled with dresses, denim, and trousers. I'm keeping the momentum going this summer by wearing my favorite pairs of Havaianas on repeat. See my three favorite ways to style them below. (But honestly, I'm just getting started.)
A black-and-white outfit always looks polished, even when that outfit involves more casual pieces like a crochet top, relaxed denim, sporty eyewear, and slim flip-flops. I feel pretty confident that this is going to be my go-to weekend uniform for the summer because I can go straight from daytime plans to a night out without having to do an outfit change. The key is choosing flip-flops with an elevated touch, like these Havaianas with sleek and shiny straps.
It's officially too hot to wear sneakers all day, so I'm opting for an equally comfy shoe choice: rubber flip-flops. They're perfect for giving a minidress-and-blazer outfit a more casual vibe. Plus, this white pair really gives my bright pedicure the moment it deserves. I can and will walk around in this classic style for hours on end this summer.
I have two summer styling mottos: "Dress for the vacation you want, not the vacation you have," and "The more color, the better." These bubblegum-pink Havaianas fulfill both. Since pink and green are proving to be the It color combo of the season, I started there and added some other vacation-worthy essentials like a raffia bag, a tied-up cotton shirt, and gold-framed sunnies. Bonus points for showing a peak of your bikini top underneath, even if you have no plans to go anywhere near the beach.
