My Mom Is 60 and I'm 28—These Nordstrom Items Are on Our 2024 Wish Lists

We're cashmere people through and through, so this cashmere-and-wool Nordstrom sweater was always going to agree with us.

Usually, my mom and I disagree only on jeans because of how different our needs are in the denim department, but these Levi's passed both of our tests. 

The only word my mom used to describe this bag? "Wow."

The high neck and wide straps make this tank look far more elevated and ageless compared to standard scoop- and halterneck alts. 

I live in New York and my mom lives in Michigan, so a warm coat that's also cute and comfortable is key to surviving the winter.

"Classic, elegant yet casual, and comfortable to wear I bet," she said. 

We were just talking about wanting dark-brown wrap coats and then stumbled upon this one. It's perfect. 

"When it comes to sneakers, I like them to look as non-logo covered as possible," my mom told me, and I couldn't agree more. 

Whenever I'm home with my mom, I instantly become a legging person again. Her affinity for them rubs off so quickly. 

Easy, lightweight earrings that go with everything but also dress up even the laziest of outfits are generally beloved in my family. 

Cashmere and a pop of color—what more could anyone ask for? 

One Nordstrom reviewer said, "I have been searching high and low for the perfect tee and this is it." That was enough to convince us both to add one to our carts. 

This skirt with knee-high boots feels very Keri Russell in The Americans to me. We both feel that Elizabeth is an ageless style icon. 

I didn't shut up about the Toryssance the whole time I was home, so my mom ended up scrolling through all of the options at Nordstrom to see what all the hype was about. She understandably fell hard and fast over this dove-gray shoulder bag with a flap opening, inside pocket, and adjustable strap. 

"I like these because they remind me of you," she said. No wonder I've had them in my cart for months. 

I actually already own this cashmere LBD, but since my mom's trying to get back into wearing more black after investing in a ton of colorful and printed pieces last year, I immediately recommended it to her. 

Anne Klein's footwear is all over TikTok right now, so my mom and I perused the offering at Nordstrom over coffee in the morning and quickly became obsessed with these under-$150 suede knee-high boots. Can you blame us? 

I got this moisturizer for my mom last year for Christmas, and she's been raving about it ever since. It is definitely an investment, but given her response to it, I'd say it's a worthy one. 

"Because I'm more petite, a jacket that cinches in like this is preferable to an oversize one every time," says mom. 

My mom's petite frame means she needs a denim fit that's a bit more cropped, so these are perfect for her. 

We Hubers are layerers, a skill we picked up living in Chicago in regular below-zero winters, so long-sleeve tees are beloved throughout the family. 

In her opinion, if it's soft and it looks good on, it's a winner. This Sanctuary button-down certainly checks off both boxes. 

Maybe if I can get my mom to buy this jacket, I can borrow it for large chunks of the year. 

Leather is one thing my mom and I never disagree on. 

This silky midi can be worn as a skirt with a big cashmere sweater or a dress on its own with tights and boots. 

When I think of tops my mom would like, this exact shape comes to mind immediately. 

Neither my mom nor I are big on heavy makeup, so tinted balms like this one we can sneak onto our cheeks when on the go and in need of some color are ideal. 

If a cashmere obsession is wrong, we don't want to be right. 

I still remember my mom owning wide-leg, dark-wash jeans like this when I was young that I think were from Gap. I always made her wear them to parent-teacher conferences. Of course, she's gotten rid of them by now, so I showed her this pair to replace them. 

If you live in places with snow like we do, Uggs are an obvious wish-list item. We both agreed that these slippers are perfect for keeping by the front door to throw on to walk the dogs in the morning (her) or run to pick up takeout during a snowstorm (me). 

I have a strong feeling that scarf coats are going to bring forth the rise of chic, modern ponchos and capes. I should've known, as my mom's always loved them. 

"All of the pants I picked were chosen to pair with this top," she told me. "It's just so special."

Trousers like these will go so well with the top above.

If it's a beauty product that says "multiuse" in the product description, you can pretty much guarantee that either my mom or I are very much interested in purchasing it. We're predictable like that. 

This mock-neck especially impressed my mom because of the cinched-in waist. She's not one to want to swim in her sweaters. 

We've both had this Vince slip skirt on our wish lists for years, and 2024 just might be the year we finally splurge on it.
