I Shouldn't Be Buying Anything, But These 5 Nordstrom Picks Are Too Good
It seems there are lots of birthdays at the moment, so I've sworn that my shopping will focus solely on gift giving. With my tiny Brooklyn closet already at capacity, there’s no room for me to add anything new. Unfortunately for my plans, the minute I began to peruse potential gift items, I found myself thinking about how cute certain finds would look on me.
Curious as to exactly what it is that caught my eye? Well, if you read on, you’ll find the five items that I now have patiently waiting for me in my cart. The good news is that setting them aside is not an entirely selfish endeavor; I see them as being the kind of gifts that could turn into a "one for her, one for me" kind of situation. There’s a pair of gorgeous flats that, while neutral, are anything but boring; a tote that’s casual but made to stand out; and even a pair of very on-trend jeans that may convince me to go on a Wild West vacation.
If any of this sounds intriguing, then you are welcome to join me in finding a little bit of room for these in your own closet.
Free People Marilyn Sweater
Statement sleeves are an easy way to make your outfit stand out. While they're chic and celebratory all on their own, you can show them off under a coat for a cold-weather style upgrade.
COS Quilted Leather Micro Bag
This viral bag has sold out multiple times, and I can see why. The unique puffy look is playful and elevated.
Levi's 501 Chap Jeans
The minute I saw these jeans, I knew I had to have a pair. They're inspired by the look of chaps, the leather leg coverings used by cowboys. While I'm not planning on doing any horseback riding, I love the Western touch.
Vince Camuto Mary Janes
I've been debating investing in a pair of Mary Jane flats, but I've finally found the pair that's convinced me to get on board. This pair, made with woven leather, stands out from the sleeker designs and is perfect for spring.
Reformation Nelle Organic Cotton Blend Body-Con Dress
A great LBD is sleek but still has a standout detail that makes it feel special.

This button-down is a subtle twist on a classic.
These sandals are comfortable for casual weekend walks, but oversize buckles make them feel subtly dressy.

I'm all for embracing a funky-print boot for winter.
When the occasion calls for it, go for a killer heel.
Celebrate a special occasion in a little bit of sparkle.
