If you, like me, grew up shopping Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale, you know what this time of year means. I didn't have one big back-to-school shopping spree as a kid. We waited until this exact sale for all our clothing, shoe, and accessory needs to be met. That's just how it was. Even now that I'm all grown up and control my own purchases, I still feel a sense of kinship with the annual markdown event, preparing for it long in advance and always making at least one purchase. I have to—it's tradition!

Here's everything you need to know about the sale. This year, Nordstrom's epic round of discounts will run until June 2 and includes tens of thousands of SKUs, many of which are elevated basics that are begging to be added to your summer wardrobe. It is almost Memorial Day weekend, after all. Think flat slides, dark-wash denim, easy tanks, and sundresses. And those are just the highlights. To make shopping such an expansive offering both easy and enjoyable, I got to work editing down my favorites from literally hundreds to just 10 items.
