I'm Ready for a French-Girl Summer, and These 5 Items Help Me Get the Look
Just like many other fashion people, I have spent a good chunk of my time daydreaming about Paris. There is just something about the idea of running around the City of Love with a baguette in hand—taking in some of the most beautiful and historic architecture the world has to offer and walking side by side with well-dressed people running from the Louvre to a chic cafe—that I have completely fallen in love with.
Unfortunately for me, my dreams of galavanting around the Eiffel Tower are still just dreams since I have yet to travel to Paris, but one way that I get to live out my Parisian fantasy is by taking notes from some of my favorite French fashion people when it comes to my wardrobe. I have been wanting to achieve a French-girl summer vibe for a long time, and this summer, I have decided it's time. After scouring the Instagram and TikTok accounts of some of the stylish Parisian people I have on my mood board, I have found five chic items that will help me get the Parisian-approved look I'm going for. Simple dresses, cat-eye sunglasses, headscarves, chic tailored denim, and linen pants are what I would call Parisian summer style essentials.
I've rounded up some items from some of my go-to retailers to help me get all five of these pieces in my closet. Keep scrolling to see what I'm shopping for a French-girl summer.
Simple Dress
Every stylish Parisian girl (and those of us who want to dress like one) has a great collection of simple yet elevated dresses to throw on with everything and anything. Pair with flat sandals and cat-eye sunglasses for a casual look or dress things up with a pair of heels and gold jewelry.
Cat-Eye Sunglasses
In my opinion, nothing says chic like a pair of cat-eye sunglasses. They frame practically every face beautifully and add a little bit of stylish sophistication to any look. I'd pair these sunglasses with everything from a bikini beach look to a dinner-date outfit.
Headscarf
I love a good headscarf. To me, a headscarf is the perfect European summer accessory. You can style it as a scarf top, as a hair accessory, and as a makeshift cover-up around your waist. I highly recommend getting your hands on one.
Chic Tailored Denim
A good pair of tailored denim is what every stylish French girl swears by. It's truly become a Pairsian style staple. As a denim lover myself, I think a high-quality pair of jeans is always worth the investment. You'll wear them with everything and have them for years.
Linen Pants
Nothing says summer like a pair of white linen pants. They are not only super chic but are also extremely versatile. You can pair them with your favorite swimsuit, a strappy backless crop top, a bodysuit, a button-down… I could go on and on. The styling options are endless.
