From Geel to Brooke Callahan: 14 Buzzy L.A. Brands Worth Adding to Your Wardrobe
I was online shopping one day when I noticed a pattern: So many of the brands I was browsing were based in Los Angeles. It started with Geel, Brooke Callahan, and Charlie Beads, which made me think of Gil Rodriguez and Campbell & Kramer, and then newer-to-me labels like Kye Intimates, H-o-r-s-e, and Rue Sophie. From there, I started thinking about other L.A. lines I’ve known of for many years, like Clare V., Donni, Leau, Leset, NIA, and The Line by K.
I love brand discovery, and L.A. has become one of my favorite places for it, especially through local boutiques like Maimoun and Scout, as well as microinfluencers I've come across on TikTok who live there. If you love a relaxed but put-together style, the clothes consistently feel effortless and chic. It captures the way I picture living there: lounging in sunshine and a wardrobe curated for an eternal spring.
Some of the pieces already currently in my closet include Campbell & Kramer’s Aurora Halter Dress, Charlie Beads’ ’90s Bias Skirt, Clare V.’s Moyen Messenger, Geel’s Brynn Skirt, Kye Intimates’ Recline cami-and-skirt set, NIA’s Santal Dress, and Rue Sophie’s Provenance Oversized Jacket. Below, shop the L.A. brands to know.
