I'm a Fashion Editor in NYC—This Is What I Think You Should Shop at Zara

If you're reading this, you've likely been here: You compliment someone on what they're wearing, only to be met with the classic, "Thanks, it's from Zara."

Often—like clockwork—the person giving the compliment is surprised, thinking it looks more expensive. That got me in the mood to scroll through the brand's current inventory and look for pieces that might elicit that exact kind of interaction, one I've witnessed time and again at the office and parties.

Right now, we're in that "summer's almost over, but fall hasn't started yet" limbo. As soon as the clock strikes midnight on August 1, it feels like everyone immediately starts thinking ahead to fall. Suddenly, all I can hear is, "It's almost fall" or "Forty-five days until fall."

As we prepare for cooler weather and hopefully no more relentless flip-flopping between rain and heat waves in NYC, I've found a mix of transitional basics, chic midi dresses, and knitwear, plus a few summer pieces.
