Almost every fashion person derives a deep sense of self-affirmation from the idea that they're unafraid to explore new terrains, whether that be in the form of adopting a few trends or trying to overhaul their entire personal style. But few will admit, willingly at least, that they often fail to search the new arrivals or sale sections outside their preferred retailers (guilty as charged). While there's nothing wrong with having our favorite spots to shop, it can occasionally keep us from discovering new favorite pieces. At least, that's what I've personally come to believe after a recent trip to Saks Off 5th. I'll admit that I've always slept on shopping here, as I wasn't sure its discounted designer items rivaled the selection of some of my other favorite retailers. However, more recently, my mindset shifted when I sauntered into one of the store locations on a particularly sultry summer day in New York City.

What initially started as an effort to evade the heat for a brief moment became one of the best shopping experiences I've had in recent history, as I stumbled upon the dress of my dreams: a pale-pink sheer silk slip dress from the Fendi F/W 22 runway show. The moment the people's princess (aka Bella Hadid) made her way down the runway in that dress, it was filed away in my mental cabinet for the runway items that I'm freakishly obsessed with but don't necessarily have infinite funds to buy. Essentially, the dream of owning that dress had been collecting dust until the day I went into Saks Off 5th. Although not everyone may fantasize about owning a fully sheer Fendi dress, I can now guarantee there's something at this specific retailer that would surprise and delight you. Don't believe me?
