The Very Specific Jewelry Trend Fashion People With Good Taste Are Wearing This Summer
When I headed to Couture Jewelry Week in Las Vegas recently, one thing was immediately clear—there was a subset of very specific jewelry items and trends that all of the cool designers and people in attendance were wearing. Though I was taking mental notes of every jewelry piece I wanted to add to my collection after spotting them IRL, from vintage Cartier timepieces to rigid cocktail rings, there is one item that was the most prevalent: cord pendant necklaces affixed with gemstones and precious stones.
Rebecca Zeijdel-Paz, the founder of Beck, wore one of her signature Scuba necklaces, designed with a brown leather cord and a gemstone. At Dezso by Sara Beltran, the jewelry case displayed the designer’s signature diamond pendant necklaces set on a cord. Designer Octavia Elizabeth, too, has a version in her collection. She discussed her growing use of alternative materials such as leather due to the rising price of gold, a theme that was consistent across collections overall.
In just a matter of weeks, I’ve seen the jewelry trend pop up on all of the fashion people I look to with great taste, and I predict it will be everywhere this summer. Ahead, shop the cord pendant necklace trend.
