Not to Brag, But I Predicted This 2026 Wedding Guest Dress Trend Over a Year Ago
Zendaya and I saw the vision.
While out in Madrid promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Zendaya stepped out in yet another look we're immediately adding to our mood boards. And while she's often serving us editorial red-carpet looks that feel unfit for our everyday outfit inspiration, this look felt slightly more relatable.
Zendaya's Look
On Zendaya: Christian Cowan dress, Rolex Lady-Datejust Watch, Christian Louboutin Women's So Kate 120mm Pumps ($945), Jessica McCormack Round Wire Fine Gold Band ($1,250)
Zendaya wore a black fringe Christian Cowan dress from the designer's fall 2026 collection with her go-to Christian Louboutin Kate pumps, a Jessica McCormack round wire fine gold band (the same designer of her engagement ring) and a Rolex Lady-Datejust watch. I know what you're thinking, how is that relatable? Well, it's not that the look is necessarily something we can find in our closets. It does though feel like not entirely out-there wedding guest dress inspiration. It actually reminded me of a wedding guest dress trend I called over a year ago.
For my cousin's wedding last year in Chicago, I opted for a colorful Bode dress with drop-down fringe details along the skirt. Like Zendaya, I opted for something with fringe because it felt more playful and less straight-forward. I loved how it felt formal but fun. Equal parts fanciful and whimsical.
As we see fringe take off as a major 2026 trend, I want you to listen to consider integrating it into your wedding guest dress rotation. It's not the kind of event wear that's everywhere just yet and there's truly nothing better to dance in. Plus now that Zendaya has shown us how it's done it's bound to be on everyone's radar soon enough. And isn't a wedding the perfect excuse to dress like you're walking a red carpet anyway?
