The ballet and fashion worlds are as intertwined as ever. For starters, the New York City Ballet's fall gala last night drew some of the biggest style stars around, including Diane Kruger and Sarah Jessica Parker. Kruger hit it out of the park in an ethereal Giambattista Valli couture number that subtly paid homage to ballerinas' femininity and gracefulness. (The sport has also been inspiring a slew of brands recently, including Zara, who released an entire ballet-inspired collection.)
The New York City Ballet also has another fashion tie-in: As The New York Times reports, four designers were chosen to create costumes for the company: Rosie Assoulin, Jason Wu, Narciso Rodriguez, and Dries Van Noten. From celebrity attendees to the stylishly outfitted dancers onstage, it's clear that ballet is having a major moment in the fashion industry right now—and we're certainly not complaining.
