The Best Dressed People I Know Told Me What They're Wearing for Fashion Month
If you’re anything like this editor, you probably look forward to fashion month for the new collections debuting on the runways as well as the street style looks that are snapped outside of the shows. I find both equally inspiring, but the outfits fashion-industry veterans are wearing always have a big impact on how I’m getting dressed and the new-season items I add to my wardrobe. With fashion month upon us, I was curious to get a preview of the pieces and trends insiders will be wearing this season.
Ahead, some of the best-dressed people in fashion are sharing a sneak peek at the cool brands, spring trends, and exact pieces they are planning to wear everywhere from New York to Paris to attend the shows for the spring/summer 2024 collections. Looking at their picks, leather gloves, pieces with built-in scarves, and great outerwear will be taking over the street style scene this season—shop all of their finds here.
Lauren Santo Domingo, Chief Brand Officer, Moda Operandi
Lauren Santo Domingo's fashion month picks are steeped in some of the spring 2024 trends she is gravitating to. Among the most street style-worthy? Sweaters styled as scarves and chocolate paired with black. Perhaps her biggest point of focus, though, is great outerwear primed for cold winter days. "It’s all anyone really sees after all," she explains.

"Sweaters styled as scarves were all over the S/S 24 runways, and personally, but I’ve been a longtime fan of the look. I like to layer up two of the same style."
"Or...opt for Proenza Schouler’s Lara Knit Maxi Dress that does all the heavy lifting for you."
"When it comes to February fashion month, I tend to put a lot of focus on my outerwear and go for a coat that’s particularly fabulous."
"Right now, I’m all about mixing chocolate and black—thank you, Phoebe Philo. The Row’s Reysha Wool Maxi Dress and Wide Shaft Leather Boots are a perfect pairing as far as I’m concerned."
Kia Goosby, Fashion Market Editor, Vanity Fair
"Season after season, I really try to not become overwhelmed by the pomp and circumstance of fashion week. It’s fun, but it’s also work, and I need the clothes that I’m wearing to be comfortable, easy to move around in, yet still show off my personality. It will be cold (praying for no rain or snow), so for the most part it will be all about a great coat. I guess we can say business on the outside, party on the inside, where underneath you can catch a fun skirt like sequins or metallic to jazz things up a bit, or a great pair of leather pants. I want to accessorize more and be intentional with little details like leather gloves (short and opera length) while carrying a great handbag that will store all my essentials like a phone charger and snacks. My go-to designers during this week are always Khaite and Toteme because the pieces are chic and feel closest to my everyday style. At the end of the day, it’s just not about re-inventing the wheel, but wearing things that ultimately make me feel good."

"I’ve been a fan of the outerwear by Nour Hammour since last year. Each of their styles of coats are just simply so chic and are absolutely perfect for pulling off a pulled together look, while also staying warm for fashion week. If you see me in this coat more than once over the course of my time going from show to show in New York and London, don’t be surprised."
"Still Here NYC is one of my favorite denim brands and they just released a new style called the 'everyday' jean. It’s a straight, semi-wide leg, with medium-rise fit that’s perfect for any day of the week. I love how versatile these jeans are for their ways to be dressed up with boots or down with a great sneaker."
"Khaite is another one of my ultimate favorite brands and I’ve had my eye on these boots since the moment they came out. They’re absolutely divine. I’m not one for a tall heel because it’s quite unrealistic (for me) to be gallivanting around town in heels when the days are so long. But I think I can make these work at least one of the days that aren’t so intense. I’m thinking of styling with straight-leg jeans or a denim skirt so you can see the true beauty of these magnificent boots."
"This season I want to get out of my comfort zone a bit and switch it up with wearing some skirts. I love this 16Arlington croc-embossed leather skirt that offers so much versatility in the way it can be styled. I’m thinking with tall boots and a short fur coat would be chic. I’m normally someone who loves to just go for a dress because it’s so much easier to put together an outfit, but it’s a new year and I want to do something different. We’ll see!"
Libby Jane Page, Market Director, Net-a-Porter
"This fashion month I am taking a mathematical approach! It’s all about outfit formulas. As someone who is currently moving houses, much of my wardrobe is in storage, so I have had to choose my key pieces wisely and look at outfit formulas that mean I can re-work and re-wear. After seasons of oversized, well, everything I am looking to embrace my femininity and form, opting for shrunken blazers, nipped-in waists, and cigarette shape pants."

"We recently pre-launched 7 pieces from Proenza Schouler’s S/S 24 Runway collection and their Ross Leather Jacket and Boucle Maxi Dress are on my mind to wear in New York."
"We recently launched a roster of new designers that all speak to elevated luxury RTW, I’ll be championing them. I’ve invested in pieces from Veronica Di Piante and Liberowe and will mix these with some of my favorite tried and tested designers."
"I’ll be sticking to my classic aesthetic but injecting some new styling ideas."
"Winter is always the best season for layering so I’m looking forward to experimenting with that.
Alexis Badiyi, Stylist and Creative
"I am beginning to style out my looks, we are approaching garment-rack-in-the-dining-room season. For NYFW I am finding myself drawn to wearable and elegant looks with a touch of whimsical fantasy. I will be embracing layering, keeping myself extra warm, and revealing new aspects of the look once I am indoors, while also focusing on highlighting accessories around my outerwear.
A few brands I will be including but not limited to are; Commission, Maria McManus, By Malene Birger, Interior, A Company, Emily Dawn Long, Extreme Cashmere, MNZ. I will also be mixing in archival vintage with designer pieces to create unique looks."

"During this season, there are times where I find myself out all day with no time to change before my evening plans. Finding pieces that can stand the test of many locations, events, and hours passing are true treasures for a stylist. For me, this coat is exactly that. It is so elegant and can be worn to a morning presentation as well as an evening show."
"I recently sourced some vintage colorful leather gloves. I tend to wait until it is too late in the season to actually wear them—this year I want to make them more a part of my outfit, half tucked into my pocket or draped under my belt when not in use."
"I am also drawn to items like this Extreme Cashmere scarf that can be worn many ways, as scarf, as top, or even around waist. They have many sizes and colors but I love their N°150 Witch scarf in rose red."
"As I've shared previously, I am very much a belt girl. There are many great ones already out this year, especially this recent couture season. I love dramatic ones but find myself continually drawn towards belts that can become staples in my day to day. The Zoira belt from By Malene Birger is a great example of this. I have a fantasy of styling the Extreme Cashmere scarf around my waist, tightly buckling the Zoira belt over it, and having the Tibi gloves tucked in and draping over the side. Stay tuned."
Eliza Huber, Editor, Who What Wear
"As much as I'd like to wear all of the new pieces in my wardrobe that I'm excited about styling like I do during fashion week in September, I looked at the forecast for February (granted I'm sure it's subject to change because, you know, nature tends to do that) and it's looking like coats are going to take priority over anything worn underneath them. I'll probably stick with long, classic wool coats, and add to them some variation of a black kitten heel or boot, and accessories to dress them up (think brooches, fun handbags, long leather gloves, belts, etc.).
The Row's lookbooks and runway shows always up beautiful styling inspiration for this type of dressing direction, so I'll pull some imagery to go off of, as well as dig into the archives from the late '80s and '90s. As for brands, I have a few new Khaite, Tory Burch, and Proenza Schouler items that I'd like to wear—it's fun to support those brands that, no matter how successful they get, always show in New York. And for bags, I'm kind of a strict Bottega Veneta and Prada shopper, so I'm sure I'll showcase a few of those, specifically my Andiamo and Sardine bags from Bottega and 1995 Re-Edition and Supernova from Prada."

"I've been doing a decent amount of shopping since the holidays with all of the sales going on, so I'm excited to finally debut a few of my finds. This gray Tory Burch sweater from the fall/winter 2023 collection has been on my wishlist for a while and even more so after I tried it on for a story a few months ago, so when I found it on The RealReal for a great price, I ordered it immediately. It's super versatile and looks amazing layered with a patterned button-down underneath and jeans."
"I scored these The Row pumps on deep discount at Bergdorfs recently after spotting them regularly on Rosie Huntington Whitely's IG—I love that they're sandals that, when worn with tights, look sort of like boots. It's an optical illusion that I'm excited to play around with."
"I also just noticed this Zara dress on the site a few days ago and love the way it's styled with matching pumps, so I want to recreate that very clean, elegant ensemble, probably with fishnets to make it a little fun and then my favorite cashmere wrap coat from Nanushka."
"Finally, the scarf coat—this one's obvious for the cold weather that's coming."
