When I first moved to New York City from Los Angeles, my closet was full of bold colors and fun prints. But as the months went by and as the cliché goes, my entire wardrobe slowly became overtaken with one color: black. I’m talking black bodysuits, dress pants, miniskirts, blazers, you name it. As we enter into spring, a fashion goal of mine is to bring back some of those colors and prints into my wardrobe.

While I’m not exactly ready to ditch all of my all-black outfits, I am ready to find some new pieces to add to the mix. Luckily for me, Nordstrom has helped me break my all-black habit. I’ve recently added printed bodysuits (like the one above) to pair with leather pants, bright blazers to throw on over black minidresses, and fun shoes to liven up an otherwise standard black-jeans–and–white-tee look.

Keep scrolling for the pieces that helped me take my wardrobe to the next level (the first five below) and others I’m obsessing over.
