I Typically Just Wear Black—These Bold Nordstrom Items Helped Me Change That

When I first moved to New York City from Los Angeles, my closet was full of bold colors and fun prints. But as the months went by and as the cliché goes, my entire wardrobe slowly became overtaken with one color: black. I’m talking black bodysuits, dress pants, miniskirts, blazers, you name it. As we enter into spring, a fashion goal of mine is to bring back some of those colors and prints into my wardrobe.

While I’m not exactly ready to ditch all of my all-black outfits, I am ready to find some new pieces to add to the mix. Luckily for me, Nordstrom has helped me break my all-black habit. I’ve recently added printed bodysuits (like the one above) to pair with leather pants, bright blazers to throw on over black minidresses, and fun shoes to liven up an otherwise standard black-jeans–and–white-tee look.

Keep scrolling for the pieces that helped me take my wardrobe to the next level (the first five below) and others I’m obsessing over.

A mesh turtleneck adds the perfect amount of "cool" to a look.

Obsessed with this square toe and fun color.

Catch me wearing this midi dress all spring.

These clogs come in so many fun prints. I'm a sucker for the cowhide.

This leopard camisole is the perfect top for happy hour or a day out.

Check out this print in a trouser too.

The perfect '90s-inspired colorful sandal.

I'll be updating my sneaker collection this spring with these.

Here's hoping the platform trend stays forever.

Camouflage is coming back—you heard it here first.

A bold, printed pant like these can take any look to the next level.

Bright blazers all day long.

A cotton and linen blend short is a must-have this spring.

Chic mules are a must for the season.
