One of My All-Time Favorite Makeup Brands Launched the Collection of My Dreams
Unlike a handful of my friends and family members who grew up riding, I really only discovered my love for horses about a year ago when I visited The Lodge at Blue Sky in Park City, Utah, during a press trip. The Lodge at Blue Sky is home to the Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation, and when you visit, there are countless opportunities and activities the resort offers that allow you to meet, ride, and interact with the horses. (Perhaps I'd simply been watching too much Yellowstone, but all it took was one lasso lesson and trail ride, and I was instantly obsessed.)
As I was aching to return and relive the magic as soon as possible, you can imagine how excited I was when Chantecaille invited me on a trip this past June in celebration of the upcoming launch of the brand's Wild Mustang Collection, which went live the first week of August. Of course, because it's Chantecaille, the products within the collection are stunning and drool-inducing, but the conservation efforts tied to the collection and the brand's collaboration with the American Wild Horse Campaign were the true focus of the trip, something I found incredibly refreshing.
If you're familiar with Chantecaille, you know that philanthropy is a huge focus for the brand and the through line for almost everything it does. Not only are the brand's products made with pure ingredients and sans phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, palm oil, and GMOs, but every collection also gives back to various philanthropy beauty partners all around the globe in support of wildlife and nature conservation. (Each product sold on Chantecaille's website instantly donates 5% to its partner charity through its partnership with ShoppingGives.)
To celebrate the new collection—which is the stuff fall makeup dreams are made of—I'm diving into the collection's cause in addition to each product it is comprised of. Keep scrolling!
The Cause: Supporting the American Wild Horse Campaign
I'm about to be extremely honest. As an editor who's been in the industry for a while now, I've seen a lot of "goodwill" marketing that feels performative and ingenuine. On the flip side, giving back by way of conservation is ingrained into Chantecaille's DNA as a brand, inspiring almost every single thing it does and launches. For Chantecaille, it's a forethought, not an afterthought, with the words "Beauty That Gives Back to Conservation" crowning the top of the brand's homepage.
With the Wild Mustang Collection, it's no different. This latest launch represents an amazing partnership with the American Wild Horse Campaign to support the nonprofit's efforts to protect the majestic wild mustangs of the American West. It's a truly amazing cause you can learn more about here.
With the goal of keeping wild horses wild, $2.60 of the purchase price of each item will be donated to the American Wild Horse Campaign and its Utah Conservation Program with the goal of protecting a recently discovered isolated herd of wild horses in Utah's Cedar Mountains. "The program aims to protect habitat and enhance water availability for the horses, keeping them humanely in balance with their environment," Chantecaille notes on its website. I was lucky enough to visit the Onaqui herd in Utah with the incredible Chantecaille team, and it's a cause I've become personally invested in, making my love for this particular collection run even deeper.
The Wild Mustang Collection
In all honesty, I've never met a Chantecaille formula I haven't loved, but the new Wild Mustang Collection is a true feast for anyone who loves a minimal makeup look (me!) studded with neutral tones and light-reflecting finishes. I'm a sucker for any eye shadow that gives me a light dose of shimmer, so the Luminescent Eye Shades (an innovative gel-powder formula) have been go-tos. The collection also offers two velvety matte options that are equally stunning. According to Creative Director and Co-Founder Olivia Chantecaille, the colors of each shadow are inspired by "the healthy coats of the majestic mustang under bright blue skies," and truly, they don't disappoint.
As for the collections's nourishing Lip Veils, which are spiked with FairWild-certified baobab oil, you have two pretty shades to choose from: Wild Begonia (my personal fave), a deep rose I love for transitioning from summer to fall, and Laurel, a rich pinky nude that's incredibly versatile.
Shop the collection below, and remember, $2.60 of the purchase price of each item will be donated to the American Wild Horse Campaign and its Utah Conservation Program.

She now calls Santa Monica home but grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and studied writing, rhetoric, and communication at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. She studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, and spent a summer in L.A. interning with the Byrdie and Who What Wear family. After graduating from UW, she spent one year in San Francisco, where she worked as a writer for Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen before moving down to L.A. to begin her career as a beauty editor. She considers her day-to-day beauty aesthetic very low-maintenance and relies on staples like clear brow serum (from Kimiko!), Lawless's Lip Plumping Mask in Cherry Vanilla, and an eyelash curler. For special occasions or days when she's taking more meetings or has an event, she'll wear anything and everything from Charlotte Tilbury (the foundations are game-changing), some shimmer on her lids (Stila and Róen do it best), and a few coats of the best mascara-type product on earth, Surratt's Noir Lash Tint.
