No One's Buying White Diamond Engagement Rings Anymore
It will probably come as no surprise that the diamond trade is still going strong. Recently, Christie's in New York reported strong jewellery sales for the past three years. However, there are two colours in particular that are the most popular and sell the best at auction: pink and blue. Rahul Kadakia, international head of jewellery at Christie’s, revealed that most sales were "driven by the prices of coloured diamonds — like blues and pinks, which are rarer than white diamonds".
Of course, coloured engagement rings have been trending for some time now. As early as March this year, the Telegraph reported that more young people were investing in coloured stones, rather than the classic white.
