Museum-Worthy Glass Bottles and Garden-Inspired Scents: This Perfume Gives "Italian Renaissance" in the Best Way
Soft, sophisticated, and ethereal.

Fragrance is personal. It evokes hyperspecific settings, memories, and people. I, for one, love immersive scents that whisk me away to a certain scenario, whether real or imagined. Over the years, I've collected quite a few of these storytelling scents. My vanity is littered with them—delicate glass decanters filled with varying shades of sweetly scented liquid. If you peruse my collection, you'll notice that many of them belong to the same brand: Tocca.
Tocca is known for its garden-inspired scents and museum-worthy glass bottles. The bottles are inspired by antique crystal decanters, and they're made by one of the oldest glass manufacturers in Italy and hand-finished with a one-of-a-kind metal cap. To me, Tocca epitomizes romance, elegance, and an artisan approach to perfumery that often feels distant, if not lost to time, in this day and age. The brand says each concoction features "an elegant composition of notes that lingers like a story worn close to the skin." They're ornate and timeless and, to me, look like they could have been plucked out of a Botticelli painting.
It might come as a shock, then, to learn that Tocca is an NYC-based company or that it began as a bohemian fashion line long before it was a fragrance house. (I find this fascinating.) These days, though, Tocca "invokes the attitudes and adventures of remarkable women," both "mythic and modern" via scent, and I can't get enough of it. Ahead, see my 10 favorite fragrances to collect.

Best Overall: Florence Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Italian bergamot, grapefruit leaves, green pear, apple, ivory gardenia, crushed violet petals, jasmine, tuberose, blue iris, blonde wood, white musk
Tocca's Florence Eau de Parfum is a masterful scent. It's soft, sophisticated, and timeless, evoking a sunlit Italian garden at golden hour or a mythical garden nymph from ancient Greek fables. A bright note of bergamot hits first, followed by a fresh, almost aquatic element of green pear and apple and, finally, a sophisticated floral concoction of gardenia, jasmine, tuberose, and violet petals. It's fresh, floral, and slightly herby, and it never fails to collect compliments on my behalf.
Best Aquatic Fragrance: Giulietta Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Bulgarian rose, ylang-ylang, green apple, pink tulips, lily of the valley, iris pallida, vanilla orchid, lilac, heliotrope, cedarwood, musk, amber, sandalwood
Inspired by the island of Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea, Giulietta is fresh, delicate, and aquatic. It's the Tocca perfume I wear when I want to smell clean, like an ocean breeze or freshly washed laundry. It's all thanks to a combination of springy notes of pink tulip, lily of the valley, and heliotrope. It has a certain innocence and playfulness to it that keeps me coming back for another spritz, especially in the warmer months when I'm spending long days in the sun.
Best Rose Fragrance: Bianca Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Bergamot, lavender, mandarin, lemon orpur, rose petals, jasmine, green tea, musk, sugar
If you're drawn to the timeless allure of rose scents, you'll love Tocca's Bianca Eau de Parfum. The top-billing note lends it a signature sophistication. Meanwhile, powdery lavender, fresh green tea, and spun sugar give it a prim, proper, and ultra-delicate quality. When I wear this one, I feel like savoring tiny tea cakes in an English garden. It's basically a Jane Austen book, bottled.
Best Citrus Fragrance: Stella Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Bitter orange, blood orange, watery accord, white freesia, wild diamond orchids, spicy lily, sheer musk, sandalwood
If Giulietta is the playful, beachside one, then Stella is her fiery, confident older sister. Sweet citrus notes of bitter orange and blood orange are balanced by creamy white freesia, spicy lily, and sheer musk. This scent has a sultry, flirty, and spontaneous energy. It's all about "reveling in the depths of passion."
Best Solar Fragrance: Simone Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Crisp apple, fresh-picked watermelon, lemon, calypsone, frangipani, ylang-ylang, rose petals, freesia, creamy lactones, blonde woods, musk, amber, nirvanolide
Much like Giulietta, this fragrance is inspired by the beach if you traded the Mediterranean for an unnamed tropical locale. It's less fresh and fruitier with notes of juicy watermelon, honeyed ylang-ylang, and warm frangipani (a popular note in solar fragrances). It's sparkling, radiant, and blissful, capturing the exact feelings you'd experience on a luxurious oceanside getaway.
Colette Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Bergamot, mandarin, lemon, juniper berry, pink peppercorn, jasmine, violet, cyclamen, incense, musk, sandalwood, amber, vanilla, cedarwood
I love a warm perfume that wraps my skin in an alluring, radiating scent, and Tocca's Colette Eau de Parfum is exactly that. Don't be fooled by the citrus-forward top notes—the deeper, more mysterious base notes of incense, musk, and amber demand focus. The effect is warm, spicy, and downright seductive. It's basically begging to be your new date-night scent.
Lucia Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Lemon oil, grapefruit, mandarin, marine accord, fig, fig tree leaves, upcycled rose water, geranium oil, vetiver oil, cedarwood, tobacco, fig tree wood
If there's one scent that epitomizes the brand's "Italian renaissance" energy, it's Lucia. Created as a tribute to the Italian tradition of dolce far niente, or the art of slow living, it's all about pleasure, personal indulgence, and quiet reverie. Luminous citrus notes hit first, followed by fruity fig and woody vetiver. It's earthy, sensorial, and unhurried.
Laila Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Green mandarin, bergamot, desert rain accord, jasmine nectar, lily of the valley, cardamom blossom, toasted vanilla, white woods, golden amber
Laila is the latest fragrance from the brand, and it was designed to be the olfactory embodiment of the Italian expression piacere, meaning pleasure. It's no wonder, then, that the bottle is stuffed with so many joy-inducing notes. There's uplifting citrus, cozy toasted vanilla, and luminous golden amber. Fruity, floral, and eternally lighthearted, this perfume just might earn a permanent spot on your vanity.
Liliana Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Italian bergamot, neroli, watery peach, lily of the valley, gardenia, white peony, sandalwood, musk, benzoin, patchouli
Tocca's Liliana Eau de Parfum is a tribute to the Jazz Age and the "liberated luxury" that went with it. Usually, I'm hesitant to wear a peach-forward fragrance, as many of them tend to smell too sweet, immature, or saccharine for my taste. I should have known better, though. Liliana embodies Tocca's signature sophistication thanks to delicate florals (neroli, lily of the valley, gardenia, and white peony) and a watery peach note that smells fresh rather than candy-like. It has a sweet, creamy, and sparkling effect that keeps me coming back for more.
Cleopatra Eau de Parfum
Fragrance notes: Bitter grapefruit, lush greens, cassis buds, white jasmine, peach nectar, tuberose, warm patchouli, golden amber, rich vanilla musk
Last but certainly not least, Tocca's Cleopatra Eau de Parfum is powerful, royal, and refined—just like the ancient queen who inspired it. It starts out with lush greens, cassis buds, and white jasmine. Soon after, warm and elegant notes of patchouli, amber, and vanilla musk round it out. If you like perfumes that smell regal and evoke confidence, this is for you.
